I finally got a chance to break in my strike today. the target wasn't on my hit list but it was nice to boost my confidence a little. He was sitting at 30 yards along a woodline. When he turned to eat i moved to a bush sticking out of the woodline to give myself some cover to draw. After 2 deep breathes i let loose my Montec Cs. The whistle pig jumped the string and managed to turn 90 degrees but not get away. About 2 steps later he flopped over and just kicked. Would have been a nice broadside hit had he not turned but who can complain with burying into the ground through the length of a ground hog.
Only thing i am a little hesitant about is that the he jumped the string. Does that mean a deer at 30 would duck the arrow also? If so what can i do, if anything to silence the string a little bit more?
Tie in a set of cat whiskers on the shooting string , silencers on the cables and a set of limbsavers , if your bow is that loud it should take care of it , and shoot low for the duck / lounch out of your stand
I love the Strike. Great first bow to learn everything on. Any complaints i have are about the trophy ridge products that came with it but i am slowly phasing them out with better quality parts, sights next. I can't wait to actually take a deer with it.
I haven't found problems with my trophy ridge parts yet, what dis you not like about them? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Great job! I couldn't tell you how many hogs I lost because they got in their holes after I hit them. They are tough critters.
