Very cool hunt, watched this guy run off another buck then breed a doe in the thicket by my stand. Ended up coming out and giving me about a 13 yard shot. He was a little run down but still weighed right at 180 pounds. Had my pops and brother with me too so all in all a great way to end my season (wifes c-section on Dec. 20) Marlin 336y Hornady 160 gr. Congrats on a nice buck. I've always wanted a 30-30 lever action. I had a 357 lever for awhile, loved shooting it.
I absolutely love that gun. It' a youth model, 18" bbl. and I'm not kidding you it's the absolute best rifle I've ever handled in "thicker" woods. Super easy to sling over my shoulder too in case I want to bring my bow or shotgun along as well.
I have a 336w...put williams fire sight on front ramp and peep sight on rear....best woods gun ever...I love it...great buck....great gun Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
They did something right with the 336's. We have two of them and they are so darn accurate and consistent. Great buck too.
