Was wondering what broad heads to get this year? Thinking about getting the NAP killzones... What do you have and what do you suggest? I shoot a Hoyt charger

Yeah I'll probably get killzone maxx. And will do! Most my friends have hypodermics so figured I'd try different ones.

For a fixed blade opinion have had great success with small sharp fixed blade broadheads that blow through both sides for good blood trails and quick kill. Got that great penetration with both slicktrick regular and G5 montec carbon steel on a hog and deer and neither went 20 yards. I prefer the slicktrick for the fourth blade and because its easy to hone to a fine edge...but am fine with either. having said the above, there are a bunch of great broadheads both fixed and expanding that will do the job and everyone has their favorite. So find one you can have confidence with and enjoy the hunt.

Killzone is a good head. I shoot a Dead ringer rampage 2 blade 2 inch. Its probably the best broadhead I've tried in my 15 years of hunting. There are a lot of good ones out there thou.

I've used a lot of broadheads over the years, switched recently to Solid Broadheads and it's top quality. I've never seen a broadheads as sharp and durable, really a top end product.

After several non exit holes and 1 sheared off blade; I gave all my mechanicals to my hunting buddy. He had a bad experience last year with a mechanical and we both purchased a dozen dirtnap single bevels a piece for this season. They fly really well and hopefully we'll have some blood trails to report soon. I would recommend any sharp well made cut on contact broadhead. Dirtnap,Magnus, muzzy, VPA, etc.

Killzones and Rage Hypodermics are both good heads. Make sure your Draw weight is high enough if you are going to shoot them or any other expandable.

I've been wanting to try the Solid Broadheads but the price keeps scaring me away.

Currently I'm tuned for G5 Strikers and just picked up some DRT Single Bevels. I do wish they'd get rid of the gimicky colors / Teflon coating. To me, it makes them appear lower quality than the reviews they've been getting.

Edit: plus I don't like Teflon near my food sources

I agree that rage and killzones are good heads. I recovered every deer I shot with mechanicals. I prefer a broadhead with the greatest potential for an exit hole and the the greatest potential for full penetration of vitals regardless of whether or not the broadhead hits heavy bone. To me, the "best" broadheads will have the structural integrity and design to penetrate fully in most all situations. In my experience the most notable advantage of mechanicals are thier increased blade width and cutting diameter. If, and this has been my experience, that increased blade width causes broadhead failure upon entry or prevents exit holes then that advantage is not realized.

I've had really good results with the NAP KillZones. As far as a fixed blade I like the Muzzys and the Slick Tricks. The Slick Tricks are the sharpest blades I've ever used. I shot the G5 Montecs for a while but I never could get them sharpened to my liking.

    Blessings...........Pastorjim

Another Slick Trick fan here. Agree on the sharpest blades found on a broadhead. I have come close more than once to buying Rage, but always and up putting them back on the hook and walk out with my tricks.

I'm a fan of the Steel Force Phat Head. Nearly indestructable, sharp and best of all they fly perfectly.

They are great out of the package but they fly even better after I take off the bleeder blades. They go from grouping with field points to grouping on top of the field points.

The G5 striker is a great fixed head. They fly great. I have them patterned with my field tips out to 60 yds. I have a Striker-Easton Epic combo that I've killed a big Kansas deer, a nice Michigan deer, and 2 bears with! I change the blades and re-fletch the arrow and it's good to go! I'm trying to see how many animals I take with it. LOL I've also killed several deer with the G5 T3's. G5 makes quality stuff.
