Do you guys shoot the same grain BH as your field points? If not, why do you shoot or would you shoot a differant grain?

Shoot the exact same grain the entire time...to do otherwise is lack of respect to what you hunt, as in switching it up can cause changes in flight/accuracy and usually both.

No offense, but it concerns me that you ask this question. The tip weight is a critical part of the tune. The tune is a critical part of how the broadhead reacts. If you shoot every day with a 100 grain tip and suddenly throw on a 125 grain head, your tune will be way off. If your tune is way off and you shoot at an animal, it's highly likely you're going to wound it, hopefully you miss, for the deer's sake.

If I misunderstand your question I truly apologize. I hope you stick around and do lots of reading. Bowhunting is an adventure and seeing the deer drop from where you're stand makes the hunt immensly more enjoyable.

No offense taken..... I had read somewhere that someone was useing say 100 grain field points and 125 grain broad heads. Or vice versa. cant remember. It did not make sence to me and I just wanted to know if I had missed something.

IMHO you should not be concerned that he asked the question, as he is obviously trying to learn to be an effective and ethical hunter. You should, however, be concerned with those who don't know and won't ask.

    That's a fair statement.
