??? Better than what? They're better than 85 grain.

The only thing better about 100 grain over 125 grain is that their seems to be more 100 grain choices offered. Heck, if there were more 150's available I'd be shooting them. Actually, 200 grainers would save me the expense of adding 100 grains of brass to my 125 grain broadheads.

The higher the percentage of an arrow's weight that's on the front of the arrow the faster it's going to correct in flight, the easier it's going to be to tune, and the better it's going to penetrate.

I'll explain it like I understand it. Two forces working against each other. In this case the Bow string and the Arrow head with the shaft trapped in the middle. If you have a heavier wieght on your arrow head it will create more vibration and torque in the shaft at the time of the shot. This will make your first 5 to 10 yards unreliable thus creating a situation in which you may have a negative effect on your grouping. To better visualize this. Imagine what it would look like if you screwed a bowling ball on where your broad head would be and shot your bow. Hense the "bowling ball theory". I swear I didn't make this up. I read it somewhere. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yea but does it really matter for whitetail? I mean a lot of people have told me that 100 grain is the way to go and a broadhead is a broadhead

What are you shooting that you need 200 extra grains of BH? I think the question was originally for whitetail but now i'm curious as to the large game you take down with anvils on the end of your arrow!

As for the original question, I don't know if there is anything "better" between a 100g and 125 its all a matter of preference. Either will do the job with a well placed shot. If your DW is in the 60's you shouldn't have any problem penetrating with either weight.

Money should not be a problem. You need to buy a good broadhead. I recommend trying several to see how you bow paterns them. I shoot muzzy and rage. Muzzy for deer and rage for turkeys.

For a fixed broadhead i would go with Muzzy 100 grain 3 blades. Not the MX-3's!!!!!!!!! There cheap and can be found just about anywhere! Just be sure to sight your bow in for them cause they WILL drop a good inch or two than your field tips!
I personally shoot Rage 3 blade! There a mechanical but ive had nothing but success with them. They fly like a field tip and leave hellacious blood trails!

I use spitfire mechanical because i like the fact that the don't have to use rubber bands or o-rings. they fly like my field points, and make a HUGE blood trail plus you can find em cheap on ebay

My favorite BH is the Rocky Mountain Snyper (when I can find them).

Right now, I'm set up to shoot the Rage 2-Blade (expandable) and Rocky Mountain Warriors (fixed blades. kinda like muzzys).

I like both and the Warriors I got relatively inexpensively at D**ks Sporting Goods.

if your trying to decide between fixed and mechanical, then you should try nap's bloodrunners. the two-blades leave a huge
    2-1/16" hole!

If you want a fixed broadhead thats a deal, look at the NAP thundheaded, most shops have the six pack for 39 dollars with a mail in $10 rebate. Six time proven heads for about $30, thats a deal!

I shoot the cabelas brand thunderhead knock offs aslo, they fly great for a fixed blade and when my bow is tuned for them, my spitfires hit just an inch high, I usually keep both on me, if I see a turkey, I shoot the fixed blade and a deer i use sf's

Rage 100 gr 2 blade and G5 Montec CS. Lots of good press on the G5 T3's this year also. ultimately, shot placement is where its at. Practice practice practice, then pratice some more. You'll do great!!

    Have fun and good luck!
