What Broadheads and Arrows combos are you guys all using this season!

I am using the Magnus Snuffers 125gr with 50gr brass inserts on 30" CX Heritage arrows! I also put weed eater cord down into my shafts to stiffen them up a bit. Works great and now my arrows are just about 600 grains, loving it! I can't wait to send one thru a deer when this weather breaks a bit!

arrows are either 500 Gamegetters or 2016 SuperSlams. Just depends on how I feel. They shoot the same out of my longbow. As you know I'll also be using 125gr Snuffers.

It's done the job pretty well the last 13 years. Your setup Is a good one as well Joe. I'm trying to get my brother to go to a heavier arrow. He's shooting 1916's out of his longbow pulling about 52lbs with 125 grain Snuffers. I'm trying to talk him into shooting 2117's. I know they will fly good for him. All he use to care about was the speed of his arrows until this year when he didn't get much penetration on his bear that he didn't get. I told him that speed don't mean much with traditional bows, weight and momentum are more important. Next year I think he'll be switching It up being It's a little late this year.

Now you got me thinking and that is just dangerous! I have some 2117s laying around all fletched up and no where to go! I'll have to see how they fly out of the longbow. Maybe I'll be shooting a heavier arrow next week. I won't try the change until after this weekends hunt. i'd probably screw myself up if I tried now! My Kanga custom longbow is 55#. Do you think thats a good fit?

I'd wait till next year Greg If your possibly thinking about going up In weight. Even If your arrows fly good that little devil In the back of your head Is going to keep saying (I don't know enough about these arrows, I've been practicing with the other ones all summer long). Confidence Is a big thing and a mind game!!

On a side note I'm sure you could shoot 2117's. Heck my brother shot my 2216's out of his longbow and they flew very good. The only problem was It took them a half hour to get to the target. I'm pulling back about 20 more lbs then he is.

It didn't yet! opening day is tomorrow 9/27. I'm picking him up today at about noon and we're heading to a town called Nugent, about 20 miles north of Abilene. I'll report back monday about how it went.

All of my arrows are Gold Tip Traditional XT 5575's........I use the interchangeable weight system and nock adapters so I can make these puppies anything I want. LOL

Out of my longbow at 57# @ 30.5" it will be 125gr Magnus Stinger 2 blades in front of 20grs of point weight, and 20 in the back and I think the finished arrows are about 545grs. This will be my opening day outfit.

Off my Black Widow SA recurve at 61# @ 30.5" I switch to 150gr Magnus Snuffers up front. with a finished weight of around 570grs.

If I REALLY wanna drop the hammer it's a 220gr Muzzy Phantom 4 blade up front by itself and a 50gr weight in the rear to bring the spine back around for a finished arrow weight of about 650grs. :d

Easton Axis FMJ 500's at 30" with a 50gr brass insert and 200gr Wensel Woodsman up front. I believe if I remember correctly it put my arrow over the 650gr mark. All I know is they fly really well and at only 45lb draw weight, they slap the snot outta my target at 20yds. (Thanks Russell old pal for the advice)
