If you do enough research you will find bad reviews for every head...Rage has bad and good reviews, Slick trick has some aweful reviews, Muzzy they say they won't fly right, Tekans don't have a wide enough cut, Magnus are plane too much etc....then when you look into their story they all say " I made a good shot" then if you read on, they say " I mean I hit the deer square in the shoulder, or I hit just a little back, a little low, a little high., etc...so if you really think about, they didn't make a good shot.....they made a bad shot, so how can you blame any head?? I mean I think every head on the market will and have killed deer when put in the right spot....If you go onto Cabelas and look up slick trick reviews, there are several bad reviews of mostly saying poor blood trails....then to read on they say "well the deer only went 15 yds then piled up..." what the hell more can you ask for??? geez!!!!

Any broadhead will do what it's supposed to in the right spot, heck a field point will kill a deer if you shoot in the heart or lungs... Lots of people want their equipment to make up for the skills they lack or the mistakes they make... good luck with alllllllll that.

If a hunter uses any head long enough, it will get a bad review.

Number one excuse for bad shots and lost deer. It was the broad head B.S.! A well tuned bow with the right size arrow put in the right spot with ANY broad head will get the job done.Opinions are like ---you know the rest LOL.

Yes thats why i think Rages slogan "It expands your kill zone" is not to great. It could make some hunters lazy and thinking if they made bad shoots they will still recover the animal.

I would suspect that BH's get the bad rap when an out of tune bow and an arrow that is to light (gotta have flatter trajectory ) are the bigger culprits in an ineffective shot.

If everyone would use the head between their shoulders, it would matter little what head was on their arrows. Make sure its scary sharp and make sure it hits where you aim...

I threw an axe at a deer once... missed....

I'm going to switch to Hellfires next year...

Like many expandables, their entry hole is significantly smaller than the exit hole! You want a complete pass though, because if it gets lodged in the off shoulder, you can lose a lot of meat...

Entry hole is about 8-9", the exit hole is 8-75 yards.... but field dressing is a cinch!:D

I don't pay much attention to broadhead reviews anymore. Over the years I've tried many, many broadheads and have come to find most are very well made. Some fly better than others for me, and I prefer a large cutting diameter for what I shoot. So, I look for heads with a large cut from reputable companies. After I stick them on the end of my arrow the rest is up to me.

I agree, can't take much stock in many equipment reviews - still kinda interesting to read.... To bad reviews wouldn't just ask users to rate several categories that we're quite as subjective...

    For example, rate 0 - 10 stars

    - Sharpness out of the box
    - Durability
    - BH Flight
    - etc

I think most BH flight issues are not the BH....

I dis-agree to a point.... I've tried tons of broadheads over the years, and generally they don't all fly exactly the same...... To me, some just fly better than others.....

yes I agree too, but incorrect spine and untuned bows are the main culprit..

I agree with you that those two items are huge issues.... Guess the only point I was trying to make is that I bet I could randomly pull 10 different makes/models of BH's off the shelf and most bows\setups wouldn't shoot them all exactly the same.....
