New to the BH forum and soon to hunting with a bow. Question about what you think the best target for broadheads is or should I not worry and just get broadheads in the same grain weight as my field tips next season. I now shoot at a futon mattress folded in 1/3rds and ducked taped. Works great with the field tips but imagine a broadhead would eat it in short time.
i got a hips and it takes them arrows like a dirty blonde bar bicycle, theres lot of good choices out there, theres one with spiderwebs on i cant remember the name of it but my brother has it and it works great comes with a stand too,are you lookin for a block target or more of a bag target?
Honestly, I just purchase a new block and 3-D target every few months. I launch field points, mechanical and fixed blade heads at them until they're too beat up to effectively stop an arrow. Really, they last longer than I thought they would. With the block targets, I just spin once the face gets too hammered, gives me a little extra time with it.
i have found out that not a target in the world can take bhs for too long...but rinehearts do the best job imo 3d targets arnt very good for bhs i dont think atleast i may be wrong tho
Rhinehart makes a good, called 18in 1, It will wear out faster with broad heads, I went to grim reaper mecaniclal broadheads. they shoot in the same spot as field tips. I don't worry about sighting in my broadheads any more
I also shoot grims...and montecs....before the season i do take them out and shoot them no matter what....ive got the practice grim now and have been looking at the practice montecs...the practice grim dont tear up the target near as bad
dont go with the shot blocker Itryed one it was the biggest waste of money. It did not stand up to what they say. Ihave had good luck with the block. there are alot of good ones out there. what ever you use good luck and welcome aboard.
