SS Is tough and hard steel. I've used echo's to get the angle close and then I'll switch It up to white crock sticks to get the final touch which In turn gives you that razor edge.

If you are using something like g5's montecs, any smooth sharpening stone will work but g5 does make a good one. If you are shooting something that can not be laid flat to sharpen...good luck. I haven't found anything that can recreate the angle you need to fly true.

I used the g5 montecs & could never seem to get them razor sharp.. rubed them around on a diamond sharpening pad, rubed them around on a smooth sharpening stone, rubed them up & down the steel & they would never cut hair off my arms or even cut through paper that well... dont know what the deal is there.

Yeah i actually use the monetec g5s. I havent used them enough to dull them yet but I know the time will come to sharpen. Should I use just get some basic sharpening tools off line or at bass pro or something?

That should work. Ask a pro at the shop and see what they say. I use a sharpening kit

If your talking G5's their a piece of cake. Just the other day a friend brought over some to ask me to sharpen. I ran them on my white crock sticks and had them shaving hair In no time. These things are a piece of cake to sharpen.

I only use a broadhead one time on a deer, so I know nothing about sharpening them. Each deer I shoot at gets a brand new broadhead. That's the least I can do for them.

I don't think it works for the montecs as they are one piece. But a KME sharpener is AWESOME for replacement blades and 2 bladed COC heads.

The G5 broadhead sharpener works really good for my montecs and muzzy's.
