Here is a doe I shot. Heart shot with Killzone and maxima red. Clean pass through. PSE Evo Max 67 pounds 29" draw. 411 grain on the arrow. Shot at 24 yards and she ran about 30 yards.
Used the grave digger hybrid from bloodsport. First pic is entry. 2nd exit. Shot was a little high and back. 20 yard broad side. 65# draw, 29” dL. Deer only ran 50 yards. Not sure about the blood trail since most of the time he was running after the shot was in 4” of water. Very impressed with the BH. Blades look good although I will replace them if they have blades available Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm a single bevel, heavy arrow fan. Here's a video I built, shot a moderate sized pig quartering in with the Tuffhead 190 meathead (65# SBXT). If you don't want to watch all the beginning stuff, scroll forward until you see the autopsy. Cut the shoulder blade OFF the bone. Pass through to dirt. Pigs have short legs so the broadheads (from elevated stand) often hit the dirt on the opposite side and stop. The pig in my avatar I ran a 190 Grizzly through him full length stalking at 16 yards. That longbow is 53#. Arrow 680 grains. So funny to find them with the fletchings in their chest and the arrow sticking out their ham on the opposite side. TRUST ME. It has a calming effect. Ranch Fairy Out!
This was a 10 yrd shot with a magnus buzzcut two blade. Blood trail was good and he only went 30-40 yrds. I do not have a pic of the broadhead on hand but im still using it.
This was a 20 yrd shot with a 2 blade buzzcut complete pass through. I forgot the exit because it was my first public deer and I was to excited to remeber the post. Blood trail for him was very poor almost none but he didn't go far. The exit was in the beginning of his stomach so i believe thats the reason the trail was almost non existant. But his entire body was full of blood from front to back was full of blood. But if your shooting low speeds i would suggest this broadhead because it goes through everything it seems like. My bow shoots 256fps with a roughly 400grn arrow give or take 10grns.
When I was tracking him through his tunnel I actually found about 6 inches of my arrow with the broadhead on it.
Same results on my buck last year, different broadhead. The Muzzy HB does need 1 new fixed blade and it would be good to go. This was at 48 yards... https://forums.bowhunting.com/posts/1348129/
Shot this hog Friday. Slick trick magnum 100 gr, 70 ln draw, 30 in arrow. 20 yard shot pass through. This hog just stiffened up and rolled over so no tracking involved. Due to the shot placement, I'm sure my G5 Montec would have had the same result. This makes 2nd use for this slick trick. The first was through the spine of a coyote at 30 yards (also pass through). After that one I retouched the blades and good to go. Upon inspection, the blades now are in pretty good shape overall with one ding but not very significant. The spear point head is still pointy and looking good. I will be resharpening and reusing to put through a 3rd animal. Ps I found my new favorite shot placement for a hog at a feeder. At 20 yard feeder setup, I can make this shot pretty easily. So many damn hogs in east Texas! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Rage hypodermic I don’t have a pic of the broadhead. Didint get a pass through she was quartering away, came out her armpit and stopped when it hit her leg. So kinda a pass through haha Bent the blades Quartering away 18yards Definitely recommend em Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Curious as to what ☝Your set up is? I am not a mechanical guy so this may be biased but I believe with my 70lb pull 29” draw slick trick would get a pass threw. I would prefer two holes vs one big hole, also that appears to be a doe if it was a mature buck may not have got what penetration you did get. Not trying to start a war here just curious.
Shoulda hit farther back. Could have gutted it in in 1 fell swoop! That pics makes me hate rages more than I already do!
NAP Spitfire Maxx. Didn’t have to look for blood once. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Shot today.... Used the same slick trick as described on that hog above. Clipped lower lung and Clipped heart. Pass through. Blood trail was magnificent (tracking level = beginner). 25-30 yard shot. The pic of the broadhead is after I retouched the blades. Looks good and back in my quiver.... ready for a 4th animal Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Spitfire XXX (100 grain), ~370 grain Maxima Red arrows, draw weight=60 pounds. Clipped the heart and destroyed 1 lung. Steep angle shot at 7 yards hit the sternum then the opposite side ribs. He still went 100 yards before he crashed. I'm red/green color blind and I had no problem following the blood trail.
I could definitely shoot the broadhead again with new blades or a touch up. I would definitely recommend them. This is the 3rd deer I've shot in 3 years with these heads and this is the only one that didn't pass through. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
