The expirence I have on broad heads are based on what I've been told. When it comes to shooting a bow I'm pretty decent at it, I was just worried about loosing a deer this year or only wounding one and I don't want that to happen. But I went with the rage 2" 2 blade chisel tips because I believe they will work just fine as long as its not a shoulder shot.

Hopefully I can get out enough to share some since I'm working70 hours or more a week. I have permission to hunt 3 joining properties that I know a big 12 point is running. He's been there for the last 5 years. Hopefully when I put the camera out this weekend he makes an appearance.

What state are you hunting? Best of luck putting a Rage where it belongs.

I'm in Ohio, my dad and nephew have seen this deer multiple times but always at as far distance. There used to be a 14 point with a drop timne but he got hit last year and died behind my dads house. Needles to say he's on the wall now

I'm always hesitant to rely on a design less then a few years old at least. There are many fixed and mechanicals that have been around for 10 years or more and continue to sell every year. Those are the ones you want in your quiver when the moment of truth comes. They are proven.
    That said,
I'm especially wary of the toxic design. Putting that much surface area up front creates a lot more drag than is ideal, competing with the vanes for control of the arrow. I would be concerned about erratic flight, especially at longer distances.
Of course, it's all about shot placement, and I want my arrow flying true.

OK so late to the conversation but all I see is rage swacker and muzzy...

I shot muzzy for awhile but the blades bent on me and would not stay tight but the did deliver well (especially on a 20 lb groundhog!). I switched over to G5 montec CS.. This is a great solid fixed blade. I still have one that has been through 2 deer and is in great shape and easy to sharpen. This year I am trying the G5 T3's.. they have some good reviews and I am shooting alot higher poundage and speed than I have been I will let you know how it goes. As far as the toxics are concerned, I have seen alot of test vids that show they will work but require a good amount of power to push the 6 blades. also it is said they have a whistle at longer ranges..

I haven't shot rages due to the idea that a 3 blade head will create a "y" cut and stay open longer leaving a better blood trail.. this is the theory any how. I have head many good things but alot of complaints about the "o" rings and durability.

    Choice is always the shooters.

In my opinion, the Schwacker 1.75s are the best broadhead on the market, have killed numerous deer with them without issue, it looks like someone has thrown a hatchet through the deer. Fly great, awesome penetration, tough! Used rages in past had them open without knowing and poor penetration (trash). Bought the G5 T3s last year and shot one doe, all three blades were snapped off, never had that happen with a Schwacker, needless to say they went into the trash. I've heard some good things about the Grim Reaper line-up. These are my thoughts, won't give anyone my Schwackers unless it's going through them at 307 fps, the last thing they will hear is the SCHWACK!!!
