I've shot both. .. The killzones are a much better design. Trophy tips 2" 100grain... The best I've shot thus far.
Both are good heads. I like the Hypodermic Rage. The others not too sure about. I like the Killzone as well.
I have never shot either the Rage or NAP you listed to speak intelligently enough about them. The mechanical I have used is the Swhacker on a whitetail last fall. Broadhead operated perfectly and left the 2" gaping hole on the exit as it passed through. Deer died 50 yds from my stand after going 30 yds.
I have to agree, That's all I use any more. Blades never break and blood trails you can see from a plane...lol.
This will be my first season shooting mechanicals. I went with the Spitfire to try out. I like the thought of not having to deal with little rubber O rings. The reason you are going to get Rage folks saying Rage, and NAP folks saying NAP is mostly due to the fact that if you place that arrow where it is supposed to go you are going to get a good result either way. Good Luck!
I'm really surprised that Grim Reapers are not more popular here? Three blade mechanical with no o-ring, basically guaranteed to open every single time completely. I've had great success with them even at low KE setups
My quest for the perfect broadhead has been a long quest. I agree the rage cut a great hole when the work but I have hit 3 bucks where I got full deployment and shot them all 3 weeks later (4 inch behind shoulder) all deflected on ribs. I had 4 with bent blades that did not open up but still found the deer. The other 4 went less than 30 yards. After trying multiple brands I tried the T3 by G5 and I am 12 for 12. The blood trails have not been as good as the rage that worked but all my deer have not made it past 125 yards and we're easy to find. Just my experience over the past 6 seasons here in south texas on the broad heads.
I don't shoot broadheads just for the way they are designed, I shoot them for how they perform! The Killzone addressed the problem that the Rage had with the O-ring from the start. Since the new Rage broadheads use a shock collar, they perform a lot better than the original Rage broadhead. I like the way the Hypodermics perform to me. I have never had an issue with Rage broadheads, but many people have.
