Just got the "WORD" from Mr. 220 on the Nightmares........ "We still have inventory, but we're not manufacturing them anymore. The Thunderhead RAZOR is practically the same head".
Thanks JT!!! I just like them better because of the little bit bigger cut. Not a big deal, I'm just a fan of larger cuts if possible as long as you have the KE and they are shooting straight for you. Bigger holes are harder to plug in most cases.
Water Buffalo: Alaska Bowhunting Supply Nanook 315 grain single bevel. Everything else: G5 Stryker 125 grain.
I've never heard of this. How would someone even know if one opened in flight? I'm calling BS on this one.
I [like the different veriaties of broad head choices from eberyone. Good luck to you all this season.
Thanks for the tip. I havent had time to post a pic of it but when the arrow is in the rest it sits very close to the riser. It seems like the broadhead would hit the riser when drawn. I think thats what the guy at the pro shop was talking about. The guy who owns the pro shops been doing it for 40 years! I think I'm doing him no justice by not being able to explain the situation. lol Either way any recommendations on expandable broadheads?
First year bowhunting, I have praticed with Crimson Talons and they aren't bad, but I think I'm going to go get some T3s... You just gotta ask yourself...Do you want a sliver? OR A T3 CHUNK!!!:D
If you're going to use expandables, it is very hard to beat the original Spitfires. With a lower speed bow, I wouldn't use the Spitfire Max or Edge, just the plain Spitfire. They have been around for a very long time and are tried and tested. I have never been disappointed with them. They hit where they are supposed to, they leave tremendous blood trails, and I have always got pass throughs.
Rob what is going to be your total arrow weight? The FOC on that thing has got to be through the roof!
Amen Brutha! As for opening in flight, I have literally shot the spitfires since the 1st year they came out. Always had great holes and pinpoint accuracy. Between hunting and practice, I bet I have shot them over 200 times. If one ever opened in flight I didn't know it.
Ditto, Thunderheads here, they have put allot of blood on the ground for me over the years so I have no reason to switch even though Im sure there are bunch of new super broadheads out there.
