I've currently got rage 2-blades and I'm seriously thinking about switching things up mostly out of curiosity for a couple other heads. The first head I've been thinking about trying out this year is the slick trick 100grn mags. I've heard nothing but good things about them (durability, sharpness, flight), which has really had me wanting to try them out. The other head that I've wanted to try out is the NAP Bloodrunners. The concept of the head intrigues me, and I really just want to see if they're all they've been talked up to be. I'm hoping you guys could give me recommendations between the two, and maybe pros and cons from your own experiences. I know many people haven't had experience with the bloodrunners yet since they just came out, but humor me please :D
IMO experience i have used Rage 2 blade, 3 blade, love them both....used the G5 Tekans, pretty good, but didnt fly like my fieldtips, unlike the rages....used muzzy 100, cant go wrong with these....and the blood Runners and slick tricks are suppose to be the shizzznit....grizztrick too.......
I never said anything about having problems with flight. I keep my bow tuned and always re-tune when I switch broadheads. I'm just wanting to get input from others about their experiences with the two mentioned heads.
Brandon, I can't give any info on the bloodrunners but I can give you info on ST mags and Grizztricks. I've killed somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 deer with the mags and a few with the grizztricks. I don't have anything negative to say about the ST's (either one). They fly excellent, they penetrate excellent, and they leave great blood trails. They're extremely sharp right out of the package and the blades are .035" thick which makes them extremely durable. The grizztricks are pretty much the same way, they may penetrate slightly less (like they'll only passthrough and stick a 1/2" into the tree on the other side instead of 1" :D) but they create a massive hole! Either way you would be pretty happy IMO.
I am have made the switch that you are talking of this year. I shot rage 2 blades last year and they didn't hold up. I am hoping the Slick Trick Mags will hold up better.
I've had no problems with standard 100gr STs, but ANY fixed blade should fly out of a properly tuned bow with a correctly spined arrow.
Im shooting the G5 Montec CS and they've been great. Might want to check them out if you get a chance...
if your gonna switch things up you should look into the g5 strykers they are very good broadheads very durable and fly great
