Have a few that I’ll be using, all 125. Magnus Black Hornets, used on my bear, QAD Exodus, ViperTricks and VPA Solids. Have used all in the past and they work. I can switch out and notice zero shift in impact.
I didn't respond to the actual question of the thread. Im using Tooth of the Arrows again this season. I really like the solid 125 gr. In the 1 inch. I have there vented 125 gr in 1 and 1 3/16 also, but like the solid the best, for durability. Shot and killed 7 deer last season with the same broadhead. I lost it on the last deer. If not, im sure i would still be using the same head. I also have a couple Slick Trick Viper tricks left over that I will throw on. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
For the price, quality and the durability, haven't found a broadhead to beat it. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
125 grain Magnus Black Hornets as the primary broadhead. I have plenty of Slick Tricks as well if I feel like doing something different. The Black Hornets make holes that look like shotgun slugs hit the deer.
Here are some heads that i plan on killing with this year. Thrive Beast 2” Reks Evolution Hyde’s Trifecta 1.9 staps Trifecta Fixed SB Exact fixed four blades SevR. Hybrids
Decided to give the Ole TOTA XLs another go just now and for the 1st time was hitting the mark. Might just have to carry a few on my quiver this year. To early to tell yet. Grip change / adjustment has made leaps and bounds
Please define your definition of "bows tuned perfect". I'm going to guess you're referring to getting a bullethole through paper at 5' to 6' with a fletched field point tipped arrow? It is a very common misconception that getting a bullethole through paper at 6' with a fletched field point tipped arrow means the bow tune is "perfect". It's not. It gets a bow kinda close and no more than that unless you really luck out. To give you an idea of how commonly that happens, in my 30+ years of shooting a compound bow I have never had that happen for me even once. But, are you getting poor groups with fixed BH's or they just don't hit the same spot as field points? If poor groups, you could have arrows that have the wrong spine, inserts weren't installed perfectly square to the arrow or are bent, or fletchings that can't steer a fixed. Have you spun the arrows with a fixed on the end and looked for any wobble? If you see decent groups with fixed BH's but they just don't hit the same spot as field points, then it is highly likely that you just need a bit more tuning done to the bow.
Thx for this info. I actually shot them again the other night and for the 1st time saw a major improvement. Most shots were hitting where aimed.
100 gr Black Hornet(main) and either 100 Exodus or Wicked Tricks as the fixed, 1 3/8" Grimm Reaper 100 gr as my mech. .. all have same poi as my FP's ....
I've been considering trying out those black Hornets. For right now though the sevr hybrid 1.5 will be my go to with the deadmeat right there with it.
I will never understand people who argue with their bow and arrow set up when the heads hit where you want them to using the broad head of your choice. Aim, shoot, hit accurately, hunt, anything else is just talk.
I think ive possibly got my fixed blade broadhead issue worked out. Not ready to commit to them yet but they're hitting within inches of my field points finally.
