I shot fixed blades for years.....just recently (4 months ago) made the move to the Killzones cause I wanted a bigger gash for easier tracking and you just dont get the cutting diameter with fixedblades atleast in my experience. I was always skeptical on flight paths of mechanicals but theyve come a long way since the last time I checked them out.I couldnt be happier with the killzones, ready to put a big one down.

Used Rage first year...will never go back. Every time moving thru the woods would catch on brush and open. Then I would have to stop and fix the arrow before I proceeded. Guess they would be okay in a treestand, or blind, but suck doing stop and stalk.

Made the switch couple times just to try something different.

Most broadheads will get the job done if they're sharp.

I started with fixed blades. Now I shoot rage there is no question. The rage have performed much better for me.

Thanks for the input ya'll, always been a fixed blade kind of guy myself & usualy the heavier old school heads, (Bear razor heads, Mugnus) because they could be resharpened, flew great & done ther job, but think'n it mite be time to quit draggin around the club & moderize.

I figured a good bit of ya'll had tried them & had some food for thought to offer on the good, bad & the ugly on ther performance & durability as compared to a fixed blade, some mechanicals look to be built kind of flimsy but from the pics of wound channels (actual pics locals have left at my fave gun/archery store) you'd think the deer have been shot with a machette.

I use both either G-5 Strikers or Rage 2 blade Chisel as my primary broadheads I've bow hunted 4 years now an still have much to learn. The best blood trails have been from the rage so far tried a few others as well. My 3 arrow quiver carries 2 G5's an one rage. Just depends on wind conditions and location of hunting area. Most spots my setups our around 20 yards or less I use the strikers over 20 and or windy I use the rage. Love both broadheads!

All I can say is that my buddy lost an elk in New Mexico last year due to a mechanical rage broadhead. The shot was off a bit and hit right at the shoulder blade and it bounced off him not even penetrating the animal at all. The guide even said he would never use a mechanical on an elk. That was all I needed to hear to switch to a solid one piece fixed blade broadhead like the G5 Montecs.

I have shot fixed broadheads for year and have moved to a two blade NAP Blood Runner. I look forward to proving more information as I shot.

I was wondering if anyone has shoot the "TOXIC" broad head for impact and flight. Let me know if you are shooting these cause I would like to try them.
