It appears that "The Machine" has woke up for game 2.

A lot of ball left to play though.

When Pujols goes, the Cards go.

On a side note, these announcers are terrible.

It doesn't look good for Game 3.

60-70% chance of rain throughout the night. With both teams top pitchers taking the mound, this is the worst thing that could happen. It would be a shame for the game to get started and only last for a few innings before being delayed, and both Carpenter and Gallardo being forced out of the game.

Hopefully they get it in with no delays, or cancel it all together.

The baseball gods must not like good pitching. Both of Verlander's starts were delayed due to rain too.

This game will be the deciding game of the series. Hopefully it will be played tonight.

    GO CREW!

It sucks for Verlander and the Tigers too. He has to be the most exciting pitcher in the game right now.

You are right about tonights game, it is huge for both teams. I think it is critical that the Cards win at least 2 at home, and then I'll take our chances with Jackson and Carpenter for games 6 and 7.

Either way I'll most likely be at Game 5!

Right now, I gotta give the edge the Red Birds, but if the Crew wins one of the next 2 games in STL, they will gain control of the series. The Brewers' pitching has just conked out, except Gallardo.

So much for that great pitching matchup.

I had a hunch that the Cards would get to Gallardo, given the history between the two, but I thought for sure Carp would be strong. Looks like this game will be decided by the bats and middle relievers again...

If Kotsay isn't drifting off 2nd base, or if he makes that play in center during the first inning, then I think the Brewers would be in control of this game.

Carp needs to pull it together, and keep the Brewers from going into "Beast Mode" or whatever that silly little thing is called they do with each other.:dan:

    BIRDS!

David Freese is quickly becoming a fan favorite during these playoffs, and Motte has just been plain sick.

Loshe and Wolf tomorrow. Cards usually struggle against lefties and Loshe is a coin toss as to which version of him will show up.

    Yeah, Motte throws gas.

Last game for MIL. If they lose this, it is over. I am gonna be one cranky guy this weekend.

Like I said, Loshe is a coin toss. He HAS to keep the ball down, and keep runners off base in front of Fielder and Braun.

Wolf will turn Berkman and Furcal around to bat right handed which is an advantage for the Brewers. Also, with Holliday sucking right now there is no reason Pujols sould even see anything close to the plate.

Big W last night. Like you guys have said though it wasn't quite the game I was expecting given the matchups. Cards win one more at home and then just have to win one on the road, which I think can definitely be done. Or they could just win both these next games at home :D. Can't wait to see how tonight's game turns out.

Your right too Rory about winning on the road. I know the Brewers are tough at home, but I like our chances with Jackson vs. Marcum, and Carp vs. Gallardo. I feel pretty confident they could win 1 more at Miller if needed.
