Only thing I'd do is sometime in September put some pure urea (NITROGEN!) on it before a rain, the boost this does is tremendous. We've not always been able to due to funds or timing but man when we have they love the stuff and it's lush right at beginning of bow season!

yep more fertilizer. If you want like said above me, 46-0-0 before a rain.

What I do is incorporate some fertilizer in at planting time like normal. Then at 3-6 inches of growth I broadcast some 19-19-20 before a rain. Then spray Jolt(Antler King foliar fertilizer spray).I will probably broadcast some more 19-19-20 here one more time before early September and spray Jolt one more time.

So the brassicas will mostly be looking for N? So the 46-0-0 be best? Or 19-19-20? Will they need more P&K?

And at what rate would I put the 46-0-0 down at?

Don't waste your money on the Jolt. Urea is 20 bucks a 50lb bag. It will do way more than the bottle of snake oil (Jolt)will.

Plus grass crops have high N requirements.

As far as the clover.....if you want clover don't let the time of year stop you from planting some. Get Crimson Clover, it's an annual and winter hardy, it grows fast...one of the best plants out there IMHO.

What if he cant find urea locally and is looking to give the plot a jump at $7.50 for a half acre?
Anyways,I just told him what I did.

Generally guys broadcast 46-0-0 at about 100lbs per acre before a rain. I personally just broadcast 19-19-19 and havent had a chance to get some 46-0-0 but I might have a lead on some here soon.

good luck and keep us updated.

Haha, yeah that's because it's good for them and they know it. Plant larger plots!
