Very nice plot! I’ve never had luck with cold weather plots in NC.

Probably dont need to plant until September 1 or later in NC. Could also be the ground needs lime or fertilizer. In VT I'm pretty lucky that the ph and nutrients are pretty good here so I dont need much or any lime or fertilizer

    Looking good!
I won't plant until end of this week then late for the WW. What I like to do is layer the planting light seeding one week then 7-10 days walk over a bit more than 5-7 days the final. This way you get staggered sized bulbs and leaf size. I'll also over seed late when doing grains or in clovers . You'll get some leaf and tiny bulbs or they will grow in spring for your turkey to hit .

We farm them around here so beets are a great winter attractant...

I prefer a layered approach to my plots as well. Works great. Nice job on the plot and good luck this season

I hunt right on the Ny/Vt border and have planted the same plot right around the same time, once first frost hit I couldn’t keep the deer out of it
