So, I've never hunted but always wanted to. I went down to a hunting store and the guy told me that if I want to start bowhunting the first thing I gotta do is get a bow and practice shooting. So I'm going to do just that to get started.

Is it possible to get started with a lower budget? $300-$400?

Also realized I misspelled the title. Sorry.

Welcome to the site, and the addiction of bowhunting! :tu:

You can get into a bow in that price range. I'd look for a local archery proshop, and check it out. they tend to be much more knowledgable than the guys at the big box stores. Shoot a handfull of bows and learn some of the basics.

    Welcome!!

You can get a decent set up with that amount of money. I know I started with a bow that ran me about 400 but it was ready to hunt. It had all the accessories with it just had to get out there and practice. I got mine at bass pro shop. The redhead kronik. I loved that bow. Used it for three years. Just upgraded this season to a Matthews.

I would also check the classified forum on here and on AT.com.

Good luck to ya and let us know what you end up getting

I'm probably going to stop back into that store today and talk with the guy again, give him my price range and see what we can put together. Maybe try shooting a few bows.

Went back, nothing in my price range at the moment. I'm going to probably check back in a little while or wait a bit until my price range goes up a little.

    Sorry for double post.
