I was wondering how many of us have been loyal to a certain brand of bows over a period of time. I guess I am kind of a mut when it comes to owning a certain brand. 3 bows....3 different brands. XI Prodigy----Owned it for 5 years, and killed my first 2 deer with it. Browning Rage---Grew out of the XI, and pretty much had this given to me brand new, and all set up. Used it for 3 seasons, killing 4 deer. Mathews Switchback---Bought this in 2006, and been using it since. Have taken 6 deer with it. The decal on my truck says Mathews, but I can't really say that I am "loyal" to that certain company. It's just the one that happens to be in my bow case, and was my favorite when I was looking for a new one. The last bow I shot was the Iceman, and I loved it....just not as much as my Switchback...however it was a lot better than the Reezen IMO.
I've owned Brand "A" - 4 bows Brand "B" - 1 bow Brand "C" - 1 bow Brand "D" - 1 bow Brand "E" - 1 bow Brand "F" - 2 bows Brand "G" - 2 bows (#2 will be here in March) This doesn't count the 3 brands I've bought for my son.
I dont know about loyalty, i like to shoot what others dont have for some reason but that bite you in the but when it needs work, that being said sometimes you stuck with what your local shop sells,
Shot Browning and Mathews and I believe I'm sticking to Mathews... but I may try a Hoyt when the time comes
Right this minute Im shooting an 08 Bowtech Ally....it is the best shooting bow i have ever owned.. I have had several brands: Golden Eagle, Hoyt, High Country, Parker, PSE and now Bowtech. I liked them all, well not the PSE XForce..it was fast, just not smooth at all, but it was a nice bowBlack Ice and the Hoyt Alphamax..
I've owned 5 different bows in my 10 years of archery. 4 different brands of the 5. I keep an open mind, at least I try to.
I have only shot two different bows over the past 10 years. My first bow was a Bear Whitetail Master II my father gave me. I plan on buying a Bear bow as my next bow. So I guess my loyalty stems from sentimentality.
4 different bows in the last 19 years, all different brands. I like my switchback but my next bow will probably be a different brand simply because I wont spend another dime at that particular archery shop.
I've owned 7 different brand of compounds through the years(funny, never owned a Hoyt). Guess I was partial to Martin for several years due to the grip and perfect fit of draw length. Then I would buy nothing but Oneida....owned 3 of them in a row. Right now it seems Bowtech well, does it for me.
I have owned 1 bow and it is a parker.....I am looking at buying a new bow this winter. Bear the truth 2 is on my maybe list :D
I like Bear. They are tough bows and need to be to survive me and my hunting. Thinking the Assault may be my next purchase. Tim
In 25 years of bow hunting I've owned 3 bow brands. 1. Martin Lynx- My very 1st bow at 11 years old. I grew out of It. Great bow! 2. XI Impact- Great bow, quick for It's time. I never once had a problem with It but I had enough of compounds so I went to a recurve (see below). 3. WindWalker Take Down Recurve- Going on 15 years with this bow. Hopefully many more left In this recurve.
I can honestly say that I am, and plan on being Loyal to every company. In the sense that I will not abuse their product, I will give it a fair shot at doing what I need it to, and if it works right (as far as I am concerned) I will promote it. I do have a lot of respect for Bowtech, due to the program that they offer to the Armed Forces members. and I truly am loyal to NAP, as they have never let me down, and some of the open comments, and responses that they have made on various forums, and different places. I am also loyal to any company that will put their customers first. (Sorry Chrysler, you're out on this one)
Very cool - refreshing and great perspective, I think. As a senior with a major in Marketing, and a lucky guy who just got a job in it, I find all of these replies, fascinating. Brand loyalty has never been stronger, and at the same time never been so weak. People purchase on price- very strongly - but branding will always try to change that. Cool thread. PS-I try to be brand loyal, but trying new things is what makes the world go 'round!
So far Hoyt's have felt right to me. I would not hesitate to switch brands on my next purchase if I felt a different bow was better for me.
Darton,PSE,Martin,Mathews, and now a hoyt. I dont know why i waited till now to shoot a hoyt. I still have all but the Mathews. I can part with all of them but the darton(First bow) and my Hoyt Maxxis.
