I don't need to find any reason to kick him out of office. He seems to be doing a fine job of screwing up that he can do it himself. Exxon came on and said they could have minimized the enviromental impact. Dutch said they could have too. When your in charge, and you proclaim the buck stops with you, don't be shocked and shooken when things fail, that people don't hold you responsible. You can't just say, "He did it (meaning BP)". Obviously your hero has failed these people. You really can't see it? Now Exxon is saying all along, they tried to talk to the man but he didn't listen.
I am guessing he sounds like a union man. You can always spot em. They are told what to think and do. Kinda like a puppet. My father in law is hardcore union man, sounds the same way.
I would like to know how they know they could have minimized the environmental impact. Lots of applications look good on paper or in theory, but as BP found out, most fail.
Exxon has more cleanups under thier belt than anyone. Which one can view good and bad. Exxon claims just a few days after it happened, they have cleaned up simular spills using the supertanker vacuum setup with several supertankers in the middleeast. But BP was too busy pumping golf balls in it. Then was too busy making big concrete blocks (science didn't support this idea from the start). Exxon said it would fail before it began. I realize what your thinkin. Its easy to throw darts at your competition when they are down. I am just saying, somebody else had an idea, and it wasn't tried.
Is the issue not we have never had a spill like this at this depth? If so how can they clean it up? The oil on top can be cleaned up, the issue is the oil "trapped" at ___ depth.
Exxon claimed they have in the middle east. I am not a oil guy. I am just sayin when your the self proclaimed leader of an problem like this, like blama said, you got to be ready to take the heat when your bet doesn't work out. For instance, I am working on the biggest project of my career. I just spent 1/2million on equipment. And going to spend a bunch more. I did all I could do. I had meeting after meeting with every "expert" I knew in the company. If the bet I took on some chinese amplifiers turn out bad, the VP is not going to say, "Mark, you did your best and its not your fault, crap happens". They are wholely place every bit of the blame on me. I am the end of the road. If you want to be the big dog, thats the price you pay.
Pretty good article. But I guess sliver will say blama didn't have the power to make this happen? http://www.fastcompany.com/1646820/could-the-gulf-oil-spill-could-cleaned-up-by-supertankers
Good article and the guy even said what is going to hurt them is the oil they cannot see. From what I have read, the biggest issues is the oil not coming to the surface.
Well, maybe environmentally, but from a public perspective, if the oil isn't ruining someone's beach vacation or covering a pelican, the general public doesn't really care. And I would say the oil in the marshes/wetlands is still a larger concern environmentally than large plums 100 ft down in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is a good video http://news.yahoo.com/video/us-15749625/is-bp-smarter-than-a-10-year-old-20467971
Hey, I have helped organize a few places over time and served as a Steward for a few years, not like its something you or anyone else can look down their nose at. To top it off by your standards it don't say much for your education, I sat you up stright. My question is did you know it was a Fib when you were passing it along, or just totally ignorant of the subject? Hey.. I'm not the one that just got caught passing along bogus information form conservative programing. Corporate money pulls the strings, you dance like Ginger Rogers.
Holy cow is right, I ain't the only one here that thinks like this. Thank you lord for providing me with like minded people. UNIONS SUCK! They have destroyed the work ethic of the American Worker and driven costs up and companies out. Amazes me the sheeple that can not understand that there are negative effects to this and the damage they have done. Rant over Oh, and I don't have T.V either
Actually when I was a kid I was a hardcore union supporter. Until I saw UMW members kill a contractor truck driver during a strike. They thought he was a scab and shot innocent kid at 200 yards away. Our school bus passed it in Pike County, Ky. I will never forget the blood flowing out of that coaltruck. Then when my mother refused to put a sign up in the yard to support them, she got threatened. Then, I went out in the real world and worked with telecom union folks, and simple fiber crossconnect that should take half a day maybe, took 3 weeks. They are killing this country. But blama has made all kinds of promises to em. So they would support him even if he was the devil himself. Kinda funny that all strip mining permits have been pulled in WV and the only ones issued by blamas epa is for union mines.
What I find ironic is that the current administration says that they will "bring jobs back to America", and at the same time are supported by unions. No jobs are "returning" to America as long as labor costs (union labor costs) are as high as they are. I guess they could try by doing what they are doing to the mining industry, or tariff the foreign autos out, but that in its self would only serve to increase the cost of the "American" auto. I have seen 6 week construction jobs take 6 months. Union workers said to me, "what are you trying to do, kill this job?", when I had to come in and knock out some finish carpentry that they were not able to do. The pisser is that they do not think they work for the company, they work for the union rep. or shop steward. That in its self has ruined any possibility of a employer employee relationship.
Befor you get any more of your foot in your mouth, I have not been in a union for years, just smart enough to understand where and why they are needed.
Nevermind, I removed what I was going to say. I'll just say I have different thoughts on unions. I have no use for them.
