The closest gas station to me is less than a mile away.. it's a BP. Haven't been there in over a month. If they would have handled things differently (like just said what it was and is from the start.. no smoke up my rear).. I would have agreed with much of what was said in this thread. Unfortunately.. they did not.
I use the a citgo for my personal truck. Reason is, they still let people pump their gas and then pay. I am a cash guy and not much for cards, so walking in the store and making an educated guess at how much gas it will take to fill my tank, then filling, then going back for change is a pain in the rear.
BP... Good point Gri22ly, I think a lot of us go for whatever is cheaper at the pump, and who has cheaper prices on Grizzly! I didn't know we had experts on foreign oil policies...
Not a thing, I support them 110 percent. Now for the latest on the BP mess. That CEO (forget his name) of BP, you know the one they said would be removed, well he is at a Yacht race in England today to see his Yacht race and will be back at the helm tomorrow. Yea, he's real concerned. http://www.foxnews.com/
I find it interesting that so many of our members here who have posted in this thread have been so outspoken in the past about 'who cares if its made over-seas'... etc etc And yet.. now are trying to tell us all to not hurt our fellow neighbor. They have a word for that...
Seems to me that buying gas from any station is like buying an "American Made" car or truck. It is full of parts from another country Just like most of the oil consumed in the US comes from OPEC. We all know how I personally feel about buying from overseas. Heck I'd buy gas from China if it were here to buy.
Heyward Unbelievable....I'm not sure what to say. A lot of blue collar workers out there that bust their seat of their pants day after day to make ends meet, and this yuppie is making millions doing nothing...or at least that what he seems to know behind the camera.... watching boat races....figures
I see the news reporting this and saying everyone is outraged. But why should it matter. I could care less if he is at a *****house or a race, or a nascar race. What should he be doing?
Do you have any clue how large a company BP is? How many officers, VP's directors, on and on. Is this man souly resposible? Did he alone cause this explosion?
I think there is a huge misconception on here about how much control a CEO has. When I look at my own company which falls under the Fortune 20 list it is amazing how much layering of executives there are. With that being said, one man can't keep everything under control. Similar to a president a CEO had advisers and layers of people reporting what is going on. CEO's in some cases are earning their paycheck's free and clear, the CEO of our Wireless Division is worth his check any day of the week. The problem I do have is that BP is involved in the greatest oil tragedy we could ever see and any CEO should know he will be under constant scrutiny. There are tens of thousands depending on him to save the company images and stop the company from sinking. All the guy has done is duck and dodge from questions and now hits a posh boat race instead of being in LA over the weekend to donate some free time for at least a publicity stunt.
