How many of you are going to boycott BP fuels?

    Here is my .02 cents:

    1) It's good fuel. That's all I use. (opinion)

    2) If we stop purchasing BP fuel, then that eliminates
them making financial gains. In turn, they will not
have the financial resources to clean up this mess
and piece the ecosystem back together, and pay
    up for claims.

    3) If we stop the purchase of BP, who is going to clean up
the catastrophe then, when they run out of money?
WE will pay for it, and put us in a larger deficit than
what George Bush left us in.

    What do you think? :argue:

You obviously have no idea how the oil industry works.

All of the stations around my house are locally owned, so I end up hurting local families more than the BP Company. The local families are not at fault.

Crap happens. The White House is in it's ... "Anything that takes the heat of me mode". Yes it's a mess... yes they'll fix it... someday. I'd buy what i want. Around here it's not BP that's the cheapest. Hell, I don't know if we have a BP around me.

It was an industrial accident and they are doing their best to correct it.

Just because it's a BP service station, it doesn't mean that BP produced the gas. It could have came from an Exxon production plant. Oil companies sell to each all the time.

The only people these tiny, idiotic boycotts are hurting are the local owners of the service stations.

If (and this is a big if) BP goes bankrupt, they will start a "new" BP, and leave the environmental liability back with the "old" BP, thus never paying what they owe. Companies do it all the time.

I was just thinking the same thing, all the fuel, from all the companies heads down the same pipe. You have no idea who's fuel you are putting in your car.

Well there certainly is 2 schools of thought on this one for sure. Neither are wrong. I've boycotted them. Won't ever use their fuel again. I don't support products that I know to be PETA supporters either. No matter how good their products are. Good or bad, right or wrong, I have my own morals and standards. I can't support them, and I won't.

Do you not buy Exxon and Chevron products as well? They've had major oil spills too.

Oil is mostly a comodity. Only thing you would hurt boycotting is some guy from pakistan who opened a station which may please some. Refined gasoline just does not sit being not used. Somebody will buy it

We have 2 Chevron stations in my town, they recently purchased the local BP also.... so who's fuel do you get when you go fill up at the Chevron, or the BP, is the same at both places? Different at each? How would one know? Makes no difference to me, I mostly always gas up at the local Chevron or Hess/Wilco, I could really care less.

I wonder how hard it would be to buy gas from China. If only WalMart sold gas by me...Just Kidding.

I only go to the BP by me. That is because it is close and they have a nice place. The owner has a decent bait shop and there is a Subway inside.

As someone that works close to that industry..... I feel for BP (the company) I know how things go. Is isn't all about Greed. It's about managing risk. That is how you approach every day. Keeping risk under control. They lost this battle in the worst way.

You don't realize how many failure wells they had to drill to get one that is productive. It's a risky business and when your succeed there should be hefty profits. There would be no incentive for any of these companies to devolpe new technologies if there isn't something to gain.

If you didn't have companies taking risks there would not be nearly the energy development we have today. Sorry but this is just a bump in the road. And yes it hurts me as well to see what is happening there. Very very unfortunate from everything to the wildlife to the people's economic state.

I'm positive mistakes were made on that rig that could of been prevented. BP should be held accountable for the losses they have caused.

Let me be clear. BOYCOTTING THE GAS STATIONS IS NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

May god help BP get this leak stopped and move on. For everyone's good.

I do not live near a Sam's Club. I wish I did and they sold gas.

Screw Sam's and the Satanic Empire, we get ours from Costco, Shell or BP.

My last tank was from a BP station. They had the same price as the station next door and plenty of open pumps.
