The 22 year old youngster is putting on a clinic at the US Open. He just got to an all time under par of 13. At present he's 10 shots ahead of the nearest guy who hasn't Teed off yet. The young man is 7 under for today so far. He's shooting darts at the fairways and greens. Tiger WHO????: LOL
I like him and would like to see him finish strong, we'll see if he can avoid shooting a round in the 80's this time. I'll give it to ya though you never miss a chance at hating on Tiger. LOL
I don't hate Tiger..... it's just the guy hasn't done squat in 3 years and all we hear is Tiger... Tiger .... Tiger. In the mean time there are some young guns playing some great golf. Hell, Tiger isn't even in the field and they still talk Tiger Tiger Tiger.
He's paid his dues. He handled himself with class after the Masters meltdown. I'd like a little more competition out of a major tournament, but wouldn't be upset to see him win in runaway what's-his-name fashion.
Well all I know for sure is that Mcilroy wil never be a good as Michael Jordan, That's all I'm sayin.
What a performance so far.... WOW!! The young man is absolutley locked in. I like his attitude about staying aggressive and keep hitting it at his targets. If he starts playing conservative he lets the field creep back to him. Same game plan through the weekend and he's untouchable this week.
Rooting for him all the way. Luckily, I live near Congressional and have the pleasure of being able to attend Sundays round as a fathers day gift.
Magnificent. The boy didn't have the best of days.... but he played the course tough. When he needed one.... he made it. When he needed to dig deep..... he did it. Big names were trying to climb up the board and some did.... and he stayed steady. My hat is off to the young gun. He's got the mind set to do it. He seems to have an insurmountable lead..... but we all know that can change. But today he simply fired a scambling 3 under par to take an 8 shot lead into the final day. I think he's got it. Great stuff. After Augusta..... the pressure will be there for sure...... but I DO NOT SEE THIS BOY melting down. He's going to have to falter a bit and someone is going to have to go crazy to win.
Way too much of a cushion for him to not win this Open. Even if the pressure does get to him he has room to afford a few mental blocks. I see someone maybe getting as close as 4 or 5 shots from him at some point. But, he will end up winning and winning big. His game is just too perfect right now to blow this lead.
My hats off to the young lad, but this Open doesn't seem like an open. There are way too low scores. Looks like firing darts at the flags like any other tourney we watch. The course is playing too easy and there is no competition at the top of the leaderboard.
I was watching Curtis Strange and Andy North on the golf channel this morning. They say the course was set up too easy for a US Open. They both said yes the rain helped soften the greens, but they could have countered that other ways. They both said the graded rough was too easy. They both suggested they shortened holes when they should have moved them back. One hole yesterday they moved the Tee up 60 or 70 yards. They both said it was set up wrong.j
I don't doubt that this course is playing easier than a typical US Open....but it seems like the only player making the course look really easy is Mcilroy. The majority of the field is not below par and he is 8 strokes ahead of second place.
course was way to easy for a US open course. What ever happened to having to just punch out of US open ruff, just being happy to advance the ball. I did not see that once.Their was no penalty for being above the hole. I did not see one putt that took off once it got to the hole. That being sad, the kid played some outstanding golf.
