I haven't shot that model in particular, but did shoot the Carbon Knight. Decent bow, but way too light for my liking. I would guess the Icon would be of similar feel.
I was going to buy limbs and mods for my Chill and give it to my son. It cost a little more than I though it would and when I was talking with the shop I was at they said they would trade me the Carbon Icon for my bare bow for him. I like the idea of it being lite and a little bit adjustable because he is 13. Did you like the draw cycle and did it feel good when you shot it?
It reminded me a lot of my old Assassin. I am one of the few that never notice a hump before the valley on the binary and OD binary cams a lot of guys mention. I did not try the other setting, I only shot it a few times, I think it was on the comfort setting. It felt pretty smooth to me. My only complaint, same with all newer Bowtech's I have owned, the string stop sounds hollow. I generally replace those with my own.
Sorry for the delay. I think it's a great option for what you have outlined. I did like the draw cycle as well. I believe the one I shot was on the middle "Classic" setting. It was smooth but will still likely stack quicker on the front end than a typical single cam. I think with the adjustability on the PowerShift bows like this you will be able to find what you like on any of them for draw cycle though, put that thing on the "Comfort" setting and they draw like butter. Feeling on the shot was very similar to what Coop described with the Assassin. Very dead in the hand, probably more than 99% of the bows in this price range. I think overall it's a great bow for someone that wants something lite and doesn't want to pay for a top end bow. Let me know if you have anymore questions, happy to help!
I was going to buy the carbon knight, until i shot the Elite Synergy! Still haven't switched from my Tribute though.
