From this guys description what do you think happened?

I just want to see if I am right or close to it. I personally believe BowTech did the right thing and the bow was dry fired or the string broke causing damage to the cam. That looks like an older bow. If the string is as old as the bow is, I could see that happening. If the cam was bent that bad before the string broke or what ever happend, I have a hard time believing it wouldn't be noticed. I think someone is leaving out a bunch of details here. I like how he is wearing his new Mathews hat and showing off his new bow.

People think you can shoot bows without any maintenance. That bow is a TomKat from at least '07 (last year with silver cams). Looks like the stock strings. My guess is that this guy never waxed them either.

BTW, Bowtech designs theirs cam to bend and "collapse" during a dry fire to prevent further damage to the bow. I would be interested to see the loop on the other end of the string too....

Bowtech was well within their rights, I believe.

I agree, dude probably never did any kind of maintanence to bow...I'm going into only my second year on a string and will probably replace it since I feel I lapsed too much on not keeping it waxed properly.

I've fixed probably close to 50 bows due to dry fire. That specifically is what happens 90% of the time that have an issue after dry fire. The axle is bent, and the cam is bent. That doesn't just happen.

I'm not saying he dryfired it with 100% certainty, but if not something else happened that he's not sharing. I'd say BowTech is 100% in the right with denying the warranty claim.

I am just wondering what the point of this whole post is? Why relay something like from Utube of all places were no facts can be verified, we have no idea what really took place, no idea what Bow Tec really said or did...ect ect ect. Whats the point except to possibly paint the companies customer service in bad light? And if you agreed with company assessment then why did you put the video up to start with? Furthermore what does it matter what a bunch of "us" on here think? we didn't or wouldn't have any input or influence as to what the customer service dept decides to do anyway.

Is this posted post with an agenda or just out of boredom?

So a guy standing there with a Mathews hat on, a Mathews bow in the backseat of his truck, Mathews sticker on the back window, wearing Mathews underwear, makes a video complaining about another company's bow. Hmmm.....

It amazes me how gullible or brainwashed people are about bows and expect it to shoot like it did the day you bought it without any maintenance or heaven forbid, common sense. I'm not saying it was or wasn't an issue with the bow, but without details, truthful details, this is just plain useless drivel.

Its like buying a new car, running it out of oil until the motor blows up, then saying it was Ford or Chevy's fault the motor blew up.

It's not my place to say anyone is right or wrong, and I won't even speculate on whether or not he's telling the whole truth. I will say that I had to take my 2006 Drenalin in in 2008 because my son dry-fired it and the damage was about the same. The warranty covered everything except the string even though I told them it was caused by a dry-fire.

There are a lot of companies out there with good warranties and customer service, but when I find a company that couples good customer service with a warranty that even covers other peoples stupidity, I've found someone I'd like to stick with.

Its only for conversation and to see if I am indeed learning anything about bows and what to look for when looking at a damaged bow and why the damage could have occurred. If you don't understand it, don't read it and most certainly don't question why it was put on here. I question a lot of what is put on here but, I don't go asking what the point was. Its a post on a forum. It is not meant to hurt BoTech. I was defending them. Before I get into another big debate that I really don't have time for, I am done with this one.

I've posted before of one of the main archery dealers in my area won't sell bowtech bows due to customer service.....I'll give the guy in the video the benefit of the doubt.

Simply because I wasn't there and we've all had crap to happen and no one believe it as it's told. Like the kid and the broken cookie jar.

    I don't know

I really need to recruit more women to bowhuting.com because there is too much testosterone around here. Holy cow!

And you men talk about how bad a lot of women and estrogen are. Give me a break.

According to your signature Brad, you don't believe in "the off season" haha.

If I get nothing else from this site, I will at least get a lot of good laughs.

Wouldn't he have to read it first to have a chance at understanding it? Can you unread something once you don't understand it?

I thought this forum was for questions and opinions?

    Now I'm all confused.
