As a lifelong Hoyt shooter, I would like to comment on my new Bowtech Captain which I just purchased. I had been thinking about purchasing a new bow after the season was over. My last new bow was Hoyt Oasis which I purchased 12 years ago. The other day I was at my local pro-shop getting some adjustments made to my Hoyt and they invited me to shoot a few different bows while I waited. The bows I shot were the Captain, Bowtech Sentinal, Hoyt Alphamax 32 and 35. I was absolutely blown away by the Captain. I couldn't believe how smooth, fast, and quiet the bow was. One of the reasons I have shot Hoyts for so many years, over 25, was because I didn't think anybody else came close to being as smooth a shooter as the Hoyts were. I felt like you might sacrifice some speed with them but to me the smoothness was worth a little less speed. Obviously Bowtech has fiqured out a way to have both. I can't say enough about how it felt to shoot the Captain, very smooth, very quiet, and very fast. Not to mention the feel of the grip which fit my hand like a glove. I can't imagine any bow that is a better balance of speed and shootability. I think this will be my bow for many years to come. If I had to rate the four bows I shot, they would be in this order. 1. Bowtech Captain 2. Hoyt Alphamax 35 3. Hoyt Alphamax 32 4. Bowtech Sentinal Here is a picture of my new "baby" outfitted with a Trophy Ridge Mantis sight, Ripcord arrow rest, and Limbsaver stab. Tell me what you think. Blessings.....Pastorjim
Nice looking rig Jim. Of the new Bowtech line, this is one of the few that I have not shot yet. I hear she's a shooter though. Good luck breaking her in.
