Alright, so I've neglected to use any bowstring wax. I was wondering what brand you use, how often, and how using it will lengthen the life of your bowstring.

I like the Scorpion Venom that comes in the can with a piece of leather. Best I've ever used. Makes it much easier to work into the string, instead of just caking on the outside

I use Limb saver the green wax. I wax my after I practice, and a few times during hunting season. I also wax the d loop I feel it makes it last longer.

I don't necessarily have s preference or go to brand of wax, but I also work mine into the string with a piece of leather. Also be sure not to over wax...I usually wax my string when it starts to fuzz otherwise I leave it...and be sure not to wax the servings.

I've tried about every one out there... been using a tube of String Snot the last few years that seems to work very well.

I just use Bohning tex-tite was. Its cheap and works well. I wax about every 5 or 6 practice sessions (usually when she starts getting a bit fuzzy) and have had no issues

I also use limb saver green wax. 1 tip beware of build up in some areas but you should definitely wax a few times through season

I used Bohning Tex-Tite for many years (25+). Tried Scorpion Venom and it did seem to last at all. Then I discovered BCY X-Wax. I have used it 3-4 years and see no reason to change. BCY makes the fibers so I figure they make the best product to use on them.

As a string builder I can tell you brand doesn't matter if its done right. As long as you wax the string and cables (not servings) when they are needed. I sell Xwax from BCY and I have used others doesn't matter.

thanks for the heads up. I'd been waxing the string but hadn't realized the cables should be waxed as well.

Been using the same 1 oz push up tube of Fred Bear Bowstring wax for over 30 years, just looked and it has about 10 years left in it!

I personally like String Snot. I feel like it works into the string better because it's not as thick like some of the other brands. They will all work and you definitely want to use it. I wax my strings probably, once every couple of months maybe. As the season gets closer, I'll shoot more and more and I'll wax my string more frequently.

+1 for the 30-06 String Snot...as they say "Nothing slicker". I wax the string and cables after about 500 shots, or if I see fuzzing - whichever is sooner.
