OK, so lets just say your significant other buys you a bow for a present (ex: B-Day, Christmas, etc)....

Question is, can you ever sell it  ????

Obviously there is some grey area depending on the make up and personality of the person giving the gift, but as a general rule, I would not.

If it was my nephew that gave it to me, maybe. But if it was my wife, absolutely not.

I would say if you wanted it to begin with, you used it for a good period of time, and are ready for the next model (bow, not significant other) you should be good.

I would think you could if you talked it over with them. Just explain that you came across a new one that you really wanted and that you were going to sell the bow and put the money towards the new one.

As long as the color is the same would they really even notice the difference? Get the new bow, keep the old accessories and pretend like nothing happened...

Hmmmm. Knowing who and what bow your talking about i'd say you could get away with it. I would just blame Dave for selling the person the wrong bow to begin with.. :)

    Ouch, low blow

If my wife got me the bow then it would probably be what I wanted. But if my sister, parents, etc got me the bow and it wasn't the make/model I was wanting I would just explain it to them. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't care.

Depends on if she will first allow you to remove your balls from her purse. :D

It'd be like receiving a car for a present and them expecting you to never trade it in.

    Yes, you can sell it.

Usually, it is customary to shoot at least one nice buck with it to show her how good the bow worked. Then later on, you weasel into a new bow by saying something like, "I think I need a shorter draw length and this one is as low as it goes." Carry on from there until you get what you want.

BTW............. it works for almost everything. You gotta just learn how to play the game. It's that simple.

    GAWWWWD!!! you guys kill me!!!!!!!

Put the bow in a shadowbox display case and tell her it just means too much to you to ever consider using it or selling it....and then go buy the bow you want.

Ask for gift cards in the future! But yeah, i think selling it is permitted. Same as getting a shirt thats the wrong size and returning it. Just say that it was the wrong draw length

My wife had gotten me a bow for my birthday a few years ago. When I got my new bow this year she asked if I was going to sell the old one. Being skeptical of a spousal sabotage I told her I planned on keeping it as a back-up, which was true. She said "You should sell it to offset the cost of the new bow." When I told her it meant something to me because it was a gift she laughed at me.:o

I guess she's more practical than sentimental.
