Do any of yall still use bows during gun season? I don't think I will, at least not this year.. I heard it wasn't legal? But that wouldn't make much sense...?

Legal in MN. Haven't gun hunted here since 2006.

I think WI just made it legal to bowhunt during rifle season this year.

I have for the past several years here in KY. Took my archery buck in 08 during the last day of our 16 day rifle season. In fact, I haven't even touched my .270 in about 3-4 years now minus one day last year. I felt weird sitting with a rifle in my hand, and as soon as it got daylight enough to see I made my mind up i wasn't shooting anything with it anyway so I left about 2 hours later and waited for my buddies back at the truck.

Atleast for bowhunting whitetails around home, Rifle just isn't my thing anymore unless something changes.

It is legal here in FL and this will be my first year using my bow through out the entire hunting season.

I continue to bowhunt when rifle season opens up. It's legal here in GA but I believe some states don't allow it.

Legal in Colorado I did it last year but didn't have any luck but that was all my fault. I hate wearing orange and I hate shooting with a gun unless its a coyote or prarie dog. I like being up close and personal and the challenge of bowhunting.

In Iowa the archery closes from Dec 3 - Dec 19 for shotgun season. I'm assuming that means you can't use a bow. My first year using bow. I never really even thought of not being able to use my bow. In past years I'll hunt shotgun season while sitting with a muzzleloader. Guess I'll be doing that again.

    Only Bow.

It's more about the hunt than the kill to me.

I have never hunted whitetails with a gun and don't plan to anytime soon. Nothing against it, just not my thing though.

Indiana allows bows during gun season.

It's legal in Wisconsin but you have to have on blaze orange during gun season. I went during gun season one year but don't feel confident enough to get a deer to come close enough on the small piece of land I hunt. I have always seen the most deer during bow season so I don't even bother bow hunting during the many gun seasons the DNR feels are so necessary.

Haven't gun hunted in years, but have considered picking up a gun again this year. That way I can take the kids and sit in a box blind. We'll see. I have hunted during gun season with a bow. Ist usually when conditions are good for deer movement, otherwise I use gun season to do a little steelheading.

Haven't carried a gun into the deer woods since the late 90's... I've carried the bow during the rifle season the years I didn't close in bow season, and no, I've never taken a deer during rifle with my bow, but I still try.

I'm only planning on using my shotgun here in IN if I go hunting with my neighbor. But that is only because he has raised box blinds and 100 yard shots.

I shot a doe with my bow Friday in the CWD zone during the annual Oct antlerless slaughter with guns. The other 3 guys in my group all used their rifles as did I in the AMs. For Thur/Fri evening I used my bow. The other guys all had bucks around them so they were shut-out. Plus, the weather (high winds) were less than optimal for deer hunting.

In Missouri, the Archery season ends for the 2 weeks of gun season, then reopens the day after gun season ends. That said, archery is a legal method to take a deer during gun season, but you're required to buy a firearms tag, and wear orange. An interesting point, during those times when archers are required to wear orange, orange camo does not satisfy the requirement.

I got my bow hunting license last season and got nothing until the beginning of this season I got my first deer a doe. This year I got my firearms hunting license, I love bow hunting but I will try gun hunting and see what that is like. I always wanted my first to be with a bow and have done that. Gun hunting season here is nov. 15 to dec. 6 so it will be cold , I'm hoping the gun will be easier in the cold weather. It's mostly up close were I hunt so that will be similar to my bow experience thus far.
