Joe looking good up your way brotha: DNR Board approves Paradise Valley addition to Kettle Moraine By Darryl Enriquez of the Journal Sentinel Mar. 25, 2009 5:20 p.m. | The Natural Resources Board today approved the creation of the Paradise Valley addition to the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in the Town of Ottawa in Waukesha County. Based on local support for the project, the state Department of Natural Resources will establish a 6,318-acre area, requiring 4,000 acres of land acquisition, at a projected cost of $20 million. Land acquisition, much of it is now farm land and wooded wetland, will occur over the coming decades as land owners become interested in selling properties to the state, said Tim Lizotte, a state wildlife supervisor, said. Paradise Valley surrounds Beaver and Larson Lakes and areas north of the state forest. It offers potential for habitat protection and recreational opportunities, a state document says.
Thanks for the heads up brother! That sure is good news for the area, thats going to add some serious land to hunt on, lots of deer in the north part of the Kettles! I'm going to have to look into this a bit deeper, going to have to stop by the Forest headquarters soon!
If they allow hunting this coming fall we need to hit right away if you know what I am saying. No pressure.
