Bowhunting survey Negatively commenting is not participating. My job is to keep the forums positive so it doesn't matter if you want my opinion. You're going to get my opinion when I feel you are fostering a negative vibe in a thread.
It was only perceived in a negative light by you and your buddies. Your views on participating and mine differ. The OP said survey. I said no but thanks.
Option D: I grew in a thick hunting/playoffs beard. Had three deer take a good look directly up at me this year and just continue on down the path unhurried; my beard must have concealed my face pretty well.
Just because they agreed with me does not make them my buddies. My job is to keep a positive environment here so if I view something as negative I will point it out.
Thats the point dude....would you hop on a recipe thread and say..."im not gonna try that"....would you hop on a how do I fix my bow sight and say "I have no idea".....ect....its kinda rude....its quite simple....getting defensive does nothing Anyway.....the survey is a cool idea but I think you already know the next one should include both Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
As long as it is fair, I can respect that. You can PM me anytime you feel that "negative vibe". Thank you.. I guess were done.
Thank you for your recommendation but I'll handle my duties the way I see fit weather in the open forum or PMs.
I'm not a buddy, as you call it, of GABowhunter. I took your comment as negative. Poin tless really. No point in commenting about not taking the survey. Just move on and don't take it. Why must you always stir the pot. There's an old saying you should consider- He who stirs the crap pot must lick the spoon. And you know that's gonna taste bad. Give it a rest sent from old school can and string
Well, that was an interesting few pages. Semper, I took the survey and I, like others are interested in the results. However, I don't know if we'll get accurate results without the addition of the both buttons, etc. Maybe even add something about antler points. I think we all have an idea when the big boys are getting killed, but I'd love to see it on paper. Unfortunately, the both buttons didn't matter to me. Others obviously had more productive seasons. Anyway, if it's not too much bother, I'm more than happy to retake the survey to see what the results are. Or maybe the people who need BOTH buttons just take the survey again for the additional results.
Interesting few pages. Honestly I was standing in the shower and this survey idea came to mind. I would be more than willing to make another survey if there are more questions. Mostly I didn't think about "both" too often because I was thinking of "the last deer." The Website won't allow me to export the results so here goes a lot of typing... 1. Do you hunt from Ground or a stand? Ground 8 (14.04%) Stand 49 (85.96%) 2. Broadhead choice Mechanical 33 (570.89%) Fixed 24 (42.11%) 3. Scent control use Yes 39 (68.42%) No 18 (31.58%) 4. What time of day did you hunt Morning 30 (52.63%) Afternoon 1 (1.75%) Evening 26 (45.61%) 5. Did you shoot a doe or a buck Doe 18 (32.73%) Buck 37 (67.27%) 6. Hunting on private or public Private 50 (87.72%) Public 7 (12.28%) 7. Facemask, paint or nothing Facemask 25 (43.86%) Paint 16 (28.07%) Nothing 16 (28.07%) 8. How many years bowhunting 0-1 year 5 (8.88%) 1-5 years 19 (33.33%) 5-10 years 6 (10.53%) 10-20 years 13 (22.81%) 20-30 years 8 (14.04%) Over 30 years 6 (10.53%) and that was the results. I tell ya I'd like to talk to the 6 people with over 30 years of bow hunting. My first question would be how did those stone broadheads work out? Seriously, I can't help but think about how much bow hunting has changed for these guys. I'm kind of surprised at how few people hunt from the ground. This to me means that there is a lot more success happening in the trees which could mean why I haven't seen a lot of deer this year. Scent control and the mask thing is one of those areas where I thought everyone did something, but 31.58% of the people that shot a deer this year did not use anything at all, while 28% didn't use a mask or paint. I'm really curious now if the no scent and no paint people were the same people. That's it.
I can't ban you, if that's what you mean.... I say what I say to warn you, as does my "buddy" GA.... I mentioned the ban last time cuz I could see it coming... I sent you a nice PM to warn you and you reacted defensive there as you do here....you already were banned once... don't go for the permanent one.... stick around and learn, teach, and encourage....
I'm not taking up for anyone or choosing sides here but how was spotnstalks comment any better or worse than everyone's that jumped in here and commented on his comment? No his comment wasn't helpful and probably shouldn't have been posted but neither was all of you guys telling him about it. The mod commented on it and that should have been the end of it. Yet. Here we are. You know what they say about too many chiefs and not enough Indians???
I wouldn't say the ground is less effective I killed my doe last year brushed into a bush. No blind. However this year I got a climber and shot my buck from that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I certainly havn't been bow hunting for over 30yrs but, did do some bow hunting in the late 80's to early 90s. I still have the old bow I used back then (Bear). It looks & feels like a dinosaur compared to todays equipment...lol. I got back into it because of my teenage boys. Sure glad I did. I would dare say the technological advances have made it much more fun, & quite a bit easier. Back before, I didn't know anybody that had a harness, or any safety equip whatsoever. Yet most of the bow hunting, I did, & friends did back when..... we were all in tree stands. I like my ladderstands of today much better. Same with the bows. Before, the bows were much bigger, heavier, & more awkward although, didn't realize it at the time. Sure seems the arrows fly faster, & truer today as well. I have also noticed the act of shooting a bow is much easier from, draw, holding, aiming, everything actually. Quite a bit quieter too. Another HUGE improvement to bow hunting in general since my first experience 25yrs ago...... this forum...lol. No, really. the internet in general. the info sharing, & access to a much larger group of people with many different experiences, is extremely helpful & wasn't available then. The smart phones, & thier ability to take pics quietly, vid, look up weather, surf the net, etc...all while in the field is a huge advantage to yesteryear. finding a great location, having the right equipment, & being proficient with it, is pretty much the same, although the equipment is much better, & easier to use. All the "extras" available today make it much easier for someone to get into bow hunting, & actually be successful or harvest deer. I've never been a face painter, although, I do grow my own this time of year. I do scent control, but not to the extreme. I owe a big thanks to the members of this site for helping, & making available a ton of info. I believe it has helped my boys & I have a more successful year than last year.
