What kind of gloves does everyone use while bowhunting? I have opted to not wear gloves while hunting despite how cold it is. Almost every single pair of gloves that I have tried has either been way too bulky or not keeping my hands warm, or both. I am looking for gloves that will let me comfortably hold my bow and my thumb release.
Merino gloves work great for me. They are fragile but find I the right compromise between sensitivity and warmth. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Although it can be rather limiting, i opted to not wear gloves either, but instead use a handwarmer muff. But of course the bow will still be cold when the moment of truth comes! Lol. And now as of recently i wearr sitka fanatic gear and the jacket has a built in handwarmer muff. Seems to work great for me! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I prefer fold back glove mitts but I use a standard wrist release. Not sure how they would work with a thumb release. Hand muff with hot hands sounds like the way to go.
Sitka has what’s called a shooters glove!!!! I want one its one glove and a insulated pouch for the other hand. Mike4christ 2016 Bear Escape Easton FMJ 6mm NAP Doublecross

As it starts getting cold, first I will just use a warmer muff and bare hands, next step is to add hand warmers into the muff, then I will add a pair of light gloves and keep my hands with them in the muff. final step is wearing the light gloves inside a pair of insulated heavy choppers. I'm thinking about trying out my sewing skills. I have a couple old warmer muffs that I want to try and make a bow warmer muff. Like a big mitten around the grip, so I can slip my hand inside easily. Keep a warmer inside it so the grip stays warm enough so I can take bare hand from my regular muff and slip it inside and grip the bow without having to wear a glove.
I am getting some of the Minus33 merino gloves...gonna cut and melt edges of index and thumb for release hand. ..right now just using some really thin primos brand gloves. For really frigid days I despise bulky gloves and will use a muff and handwarmers.
Sitka fanatic gloves! Don't know how cold it gets where you are but I hunted in Oklahoma the other day and they kept my hands fairly warm for how lightweight they are. The index finger and thumb are cut out, perfect for bowhunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I also do not use gloves. I have a muff and a box of about 100 hand warmers. They work great and even when I need to grab my bow for a shot you never focus on how cold your bow was.
Same here, I just bought this electronic hand warmer that works pretty well. I just plug it in when o get home. https://www.boneview.com/products/i...le-lithium-battery-pack-bright-led-flashlight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When really cold/snowy I'll wear a heavy pair of gloves to the stand with a thin pair of UA gloves in my pocket. Any moisture or snow to deal with while walking in and out or climbing my stand, my hunting gloves or hands wont get wet. Then I slip on the UA thin gloves with a muff and hand warmer. Works for me.
For moderate cold the fingerless woolen gloves work well for me. Colder than that I've used insulated cami gloves from Cabelas and put a small hand warmer in each hand. For next year I plan on getting an insulated mitten for the bow hand since that one is in the weather full time holding the bow whereas I can slip the other hand under my armpit to warm it up.
I wear UA glove liners. When it’s less than 25 I use a hand muff with a hot hands in it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I do this as well. This year I cut the tip of my thumb off for phone use and it was a big mistake. Will have to get a new pair now. Had them 4 years too. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
One thing I have noticed since I switched to a thumb release this year.....I can wear all sorts of gloves without compromising accuracy. For whatever reason, squeezing my hand and thumb simultaneously seems to make the release go off almost exactly the same, gloves or not. For me I like these types of gloves...
I use regular jersey gloves you buy at any hardware store. Usually double them. Sitka Incinerator muff with hand warmers. I’m sure there is a better system but the above works for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I use the same gloves I use during warm weather. I have a hand muff with hand warmers in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
