I admit it. I used to be a bowhunting gadget sucker. If someone said it would make bowhunting easier, I'd try it. But being the seasoned veteran I am now, I know what works and what just adds weight to my pack.

Still they are out there, in a bunch of booths at every Deer Expo, someone's latest greatest bowhunting invention.

So my question is. What bowhunting gadget would you like to see on the market? Something that would make your hunt easier. Something that noone has thought of yet that every bow hunter has to have in their pack. Don't worry, I'm not trying to steal your idea, just wondering what bowhunters think would help them in the woods.

By the way, one of the better ones lately is the Hooyman Extendable Saw. And yes I do have one of these.

Something that gives easier access to land through permission. Maybe a trance or something so the property owner says yes.

Websites that lease land but don't suck.

Build either of these JM.. and I'm buying.

I usually get loads of hunting gadgets for Christmas and birthday presents. I will probably get ripped for admitting to this, but the butt-out really does work! :D

What I'd like to see? A stand with a cup holder built in that will hold a coffee cup. I've rigged up a few but they don't work very well. ;)

Someone makes a screw-in cup holder that you can use if you need your coffee that bad. Personally, I can't have coffee before my morning hunt or I'd be climbing down to use the outdoor rest room about an hour later. :busted:

I'm still looking for the perfect bow sling. I've been using one from GamePlan Gear the past 2 or 3 seasons and it's good, but not perfect. In my perfect world the sling would not leave anything attached to your bow like many of them do (velcro buckles), would have a completely silent attaching mechanism and be easily adjustable. The GPG sling is close, but the buckles do make a little squeaking noise from time to time. If they would just fix that issue we'd be in business.

I also wish someone would make a high quality glove that doesn't use velcro to tighten it down, is soft and at least semi-warm, and has a removable/fold-back trigger finger. Lately I've been cutting the right index finger off my gloves not only so I can feel my release better, but so I can text on my phone too. :D I really like the gloves from Manzella and Arctic Shield (X System) but they're not quite perfect.

Talking about bow slings, I will take a photo of the one I just got. It covers the cams all the way to the riser on both limbs and has pockets on all 4 sides. When you take it off of the bow, you hang it on the tree and the pockets stick out to the sides giving you 4 pockets hanging off of the tree.. This just completely did away with my backpack/fanny pack for bowseason !!! It is AWSOME !!!! I will post a picture of it when I get home... Bought one for a friend and he freaked out about it !!! Holds everything you could ever need and protects your bow 1000 times better than the Primos...

I simply cannot find any type of hunting glove that fits me. (and why do they make so many bowhunting gloves with rubber nubbies all over the palms and fingers?? That's annoying.)

I usually end up wearing those .99 stretch knit gloves from walmart. They're not very warm and the closest to camo I can get is brown... but at least they fit.

However... thanks to a new product by Warmbag called the "warmhands", I think having frozen hands my be behind me.

Warmbag makes a hand warmer that you attach around your waist and then you put your hands in through the top edge, not straight out the sides like a regular muffler. So the Warmbag hand warmer gets some points right there. This new handwarmer is basically a big pouch. BUT.. the most awesome thing is... it has a clear vinyl panel so you can play on your phone (and see what you're doing) while you keep your hands inside the thing. It's waterproof too.

The movement of digging my blackberry out of my pocket to look at it and the freezing temps kept me from messing with the phone much.
And unfortunately, I have many hunts where my blackberry is the only amusing thing around...

Now at least I'll be able to amuse myself better and not have frozen hands. :D

When you got it in IL you were as giddy as a high school girl who just got asked to prom by the quarterback of the football team.

    I know... I'm a dork.

But I hardly ever see anything at the shows that would even work for me, much less anything that would make my hunt really better in any way.
Being a wimpy, short-draw lefty, I can't even try the new bows.

Look at this thread. I have to carry my stand in and out so a bowsling doesn't work for me. (bow bangs against the stand on my back) The pole saw... I can't cut any twigs, branches, limbs where I hunt. Screw-in cup holder.. can't screw anything into the trees. Only Mike's landowner Jedi mind trick would be of much use to me. :D

Yeah but as wide as I am... my climber is still way wider than I am so the bow bangs against the stand. Really. I tried.

I wonder if that thing would constitute a bow (case) allowing you to be able to exit the woods after hrs. In wi. you can be busted for leaving the woods after shooting hrs with an uncased bow. I don't mean hunt till dark, but just walking out.
    How much was that thing.

As for gadgets, I buy some stupid thing every yr at the deer/turkey expo.

Two things - has anyone ever commented on your name.... LOVE IT!

and secondly they had a product called the "hunters holder" at the WI Expo.

It's actually featured in our video around 6:50 in...

JZ.....Your using a "bow sling" and calling him a sissy??? LMAO! If you guys wouldn't carry boat anchors around the woods you wouldn't need a sling! :poke: :moose:
