I read this book at the recommendation of Fitz and I highly recommend it to all who hunt "Big Woods" or anyone that wants to expand their knowledge of bowhunting whitetails. It is an easy read and is packed with a lot of great information coming from a hunter, Greg Miller, who has over 40 years of big woods hunting experience. This isn't a book that will give you all the answers but is certainly a great tool to help you build on your knowledge and experience.

Yes! I usually read it once a year. Like you said, there are no shortcuts, but he gives you focus :tu:

I read the book and honestly don't think it helped me improve my hunting skills at all........I even tried to read his book on rub lines as he hits on their importance over and over in this book but again I was left disappointed.

Seems to me like most if not all these books are full of general knowledge mixed in with stories and pics of big bucks killed........not so much a how I did it method but more of what I did if that makes sense.

I want a book that lays it out, step by step.......what a "big buck hunter" does when he steps up to a new piece of land. Start to finish......when do they start and what are they looking for?? What do they do next and how often are they scouting this land?? What do they do once they get confirmation a big buck is where they think he is and more importantly what do they do when they don't get that confirmation?? How does this strategy hold when they start chasing??

I'm sick of reading books that show tracks, big piles of crap, rubs and scrapes and then tell 10 stories of big bucks they killed.

Anyone know of a good book even remotely matching my description please let me know.
