I think the biggest thing that people are missing out on when they don't know Christ is hope. In the world we live in with all of it's problems and uncertainties, Jesus offers hope for a better day, a better way of life, and a peace that passes all human understanding. And it's not about a bunch of do's and dont's. Rather it is about love and a relationship with the Creator. Good works are the effect of that relationship, not the cause. I'm so glad that God saw fit to rescue me, a sinner, with the blood of His precious Son, Jesus. Blessings.........Pastorjim
Amen to all of these posts and to the hunters who are not ashamed to show and speak their faith. I have had some of my closest talks with God while sitting quietly in a blind or stand. Admiring His handwork and creation. And if I see a deer that's a plus. I don't hunt just for the sport of hunting, I know that anything I happen to kill will put food on our table and it also put food on the table of 2 families in our community at Christmas. For this I give all the glory to God. I thank Him for the ability to hunt and the health to enjoy life and family.
I will not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ! It is salvation. The gospel actually means "good news". I love Jesus and am so grateful to be able to shoot my bow, do my work, live and love, breath oxygen... etc. There will be many that are "lost" and this is already known. It is always pride that comes before a fall. Choose this day who you will serve. Choose to accept Jesus and get to know our Lord. You can not serve two masters. The harvest is plentiful, but, the workers are few. Praise God for Bows and Arrows!
God is so good! He has blessed me in so many ways I'm so glade that he saved and ole sinner like me. April of 1999 is when I gave my life to the Lord I can't go a day with out him.
I was going to post, but decided to read all the way to the end first... You said almost to a perfect "T" was I was going to say. I'll just leave it with your good words. And may God bless each and every one of you
Very encouraging to see others with the same outlook on life. Let Him be our guiding light that brings us home to our families and raises Him up in honor.
Once again, there is a link in my signature for the "Lambs Book of Life" thread in the water cooler. If you have not yet been there go now. Right Now! It is easy to think that there is time and to procrastinate but we only have today. Tomorrow is not promised to us. Get to know Christ. Pray.
Praise God, from whom all Blessings flow... Have read from this book while sitting in a stand: A Look at Life from a Deer Stand: Hunting for the Meaning of Life: Steve Chapman, Charles A. Alsheimer: 9780736948968: Amazon.com: Books
