First, allow me to say this. When Nickelback first debuted on the rock scene with the album "The State", I actually downloaded a copy via Napster or Morpheus (yes, it was that long ago) and listened to it quite a bit. Even today it's not a horrible album. The song "Leader of Men" was the single most played at the time and isn't half bad. Now sometime between that album and "Silver Side Up" they figured out the secret recipe for creating ultra-catchy "pop rock" singles that all follow the exact same format. It was like a secret revelation where they could create the same song over and over again with different lyrics and make millions of dollars. Props to them for figuring it out and profiting, as I would have done the same thing. However as a consumer there's only so much you can take before you say enough is enough. Stop the madness! Chad Kroeger is a song writing genius, nobody can question that. He's written hits not just for Nickelback but tons of other bands out there including Theory of a Deadman, Daughtry, Santana, Tim McGraw, My Darkest Days and now his wife Avril Lavigne. The guy may be a complete tool, but he's no dummy. Again, good for him. With all that said, it doesn't change the fact that all of their songs are horribly uninspired and lack any sort of depth that would make them good. They're rehashed versions of the same song over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
When JZ starts waxing philosophic about recording artists I am reminded of American Psycho. ..... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Knickelback is to music, what Justin Beiber is to men............Thank God there has never before been a need for such a term.
When are you coming back to IL for a visit? We should get together and chat about Huey Lewis and The News.
Not Nickleback but written by him and he's in it. Say what you will about the music but their taste in props is goood.
Don't fall for it Mater. Nickelback are the sirens of the music world. They lure you in with their hot women and catchy tunes and then destroy your ability to like good music ever again.
I really don't remember much of the actual concert... I do remember it was one hhhheeeeeeellllllll of a party
I actually really like some of the songs he did with Santana. That guy is awesome on guitar. "Into the night" and "Why don't you and I get together"
Song writing genius? That's a bit of a stretch. Anyway...if I was forced to sit in a basement forever or listen to a single song by those idiots I might as well get comfy 'cause I wont be moving for a while.
