U can find great packs that cost a lot and carry a lifetime warranty for less than retail online and if u shop around. My badlands pack was on sale for 150 from 200 and they said it was soiled so they knocked off another 15%. I paid 127 before tax and according to badlands if anything happens to it its covered under warrenty for life.

I agree with muzzy. When you utilize one of these packs the way they're designed, you'll understand the difference. It's definitely not just a bag. My needs for the western stuff are obviously different than when I'm in a tree but the functionality in design is the same.

One thing that I will say about Badlands, is that you will not find better customer service anywhere. Their unconditional lifetime warranty is just that. I've sent my pack in twice to have repairs done. I broke a couple of zipper pulls and tore a big hole in it when my pack loaded with elk meat rolled down the hill. They also added an additional strap that I asked them to, all at no charge. Both times I've sent it in, I received and email telling me that it arrived. The following day I received an email stating that my pack was complete and on it's way.

One of our guides bought one that was trashed at a garage sale, called to see if he could get it repaired and they totally fixed it at no charge.

Hank, I have an older tree stand style badlands lying around somewhere... If I can find it, I'll bring it to the GTG and you can have it.

This is an entire antelope (quarters, loins, head and cape) in one pack. This is where the design starts to shine.

I have the Apz Pursuit, and i LOVE IT! 8 mile round trip hikes are very comfortable with it. and i have a 100oz osprey water bladder in it. I was looking at the horn hunter. but it was to small for what i was looking for. i wanted something i could use for packing overnight backpacking in a pinch, but still be light weight, and on the smaller side.
