A lot of us Bowhunters also hunt with guns. So how much of your archery scent control do you use for rifle season? Personally I tend to bend my rules during rifle season, but I generally use the same clothes, scent control products and procedures. Just more relaxed about it. How bout you guys?

Elevated and enclosed platform at a much greater distance.

They will need to smell me over the venison chops I was frying on my propane burner.

I'm not usually worried about scent control for rifle season. The deer is usually dead before he gets close enough to smell me.

I just don't worry about the wind near as much. Other than that my expensive-assed scent control clothes get just as much use with a rifle in my hands as they do with my bow

Have to play the wind. By time you hike up the mountain, you're a stinky mess that no deer will get downwind of. ;)

I'm sorry, but if a deer smells me before its within rifle range I'm either ranker than a skunk or hunting in the thickest of thickets. I know out west is a bit different but still...

I regularly see deer at 2000+ yards. If your wind is blowing across the canyon, they'll wind you before you get within 500 yards. You don't have to smell like a skunk, just a sweaty human.

I have bulkier coats I wear for gunning, so less layering. But still Scentlok, and I still practice normal scent reduction.

Still do all the same scent control as bow hunting. None of my shots are going to be over 100 yards with a slug gun so I don't want to take any chances.

Same as always. Attention to detail can make a big difference. Just because I'm shotgun hunting doesn't mean I don't want deer to get close. It made all the difference in the world this season. I took my girlfriend out for her first hunt and we had three deer come in down wind. These deer stayed 20-50 yards down wind of us for almost 10 minutes. This gave us enough time to get settled and my girlfriend made a great shot dropping the 9 point in his tracks.

No different than normal. I don't worry about the wind though when I'm in an enclosed blind.

Don't need to worry to much about scent control for gun season I'd think.

If hunted with a gun it would be the same thing I do for bow hunting.

Same as it always is since I never pick up a gun and hunt with a bow through gun season.
