Tags, license, binos, rangefinder, water, knives, bow, arrows, release, and me are headed out the door now
Next time out will be next Wednesday. I ran into a couple of hunters on the way out and they said there were some bucks a few canyons over from where I was hunting. But, I might get the old man's side by side and head out to secret.
Hunt #2 should be tonight around 4. I'm planning on hiking in where the other hunters I ran into on opening day said they saw some bucks. Possibly have a buddy with me this afternoon. He wants to head out to a spot where he hunted last season tomorrow morning. Hopefully we don't have to
So we hunted hard yesterday, all over the mountains before the side by side developed an oil leak and we packed it in. I took two of the boys with me last night and started where I missed that little buck. As we were driving out, I noticed a big bachelor herd with some big boys on a field. We went and asked permission, but was denied. We were headed home and I saw some other bucks in a field, so we stopped yo ask permission. While we waited for the owner to call back, a big at least 5x5 walked in. Unfortunately, we were denied, but I did get some contacts for other ranchers in the area. I'll try one tonight
Sucks you couldn't get permission,at least you tried though that's probably more than I would have done.
