Doesn't seem like anybody knew about it. Least not from who I've talked too and seen.

Need to follow Wi. Bow or crossbow can be used to hunt under a rifle license anywhere, also Bow season now remains open during rifle season so if you have an unfilled bow tag, you can hunt without a rifle license also.

Still need to wear the Blaze (orange or pink).

Okay, I called the local conservation officer on this today. She told me the only sketchy part about it is, you must have a firearm tag, and you must tag the deer with the firearm tag.

She said, she thinks a lot of people are going to be confused on that part. She did tell me they are working on making it legal to hunt with archery tags.

Thanks for following up, never ceases to amaze me the complications IL creates when passing laws.

In IL unless the law prohibits it, it is legal. Now, they will have to go back with trailer bills and amend previously passed laws to accomodate the new regulations.

Rather than do homework when writing the initial bill and include the necessary changes to existing law it is a "well it is legal, but we have a few exceptions and multiple contradictions" situation.

Will take 3 elections and two terms to sort it all out.

I'll likely put the gun down from now on. May vary depending on stand sit too though.
