Bowfishing: Gar Often Get Bad Rap

    I shoot lots of gar. They are a tough target to hit. Here in Kansas they need thinning a bit. If your arrow pokes through the eggs DO NOT EAT!

    To skin chop off head with hatchet. Take tin snips and cut down center of back. Pull skin and scales by grabbing on each sides and pull open like a "zip lock " bag. Cut the tender loins out and toss the rest to the turtles.

    Cube meat and boil in Tony's cajun spice mix and dip in garlic butter and enjoy. Most people think I am feeding them scallops. ;-)
