Too bad I sold my 500mm lens. I loved to shoot birds with my telephoto lens. ;-)

Thanks for the reminder. No need to go for most expensive one. I plan on going to a couple of places to check out different bows. Probably Gander and Bass Pro. It will be good to determine correct draw length and draw weight. I have never shot bow so it's really all new to me that's why I'm trying to get as much info as I can to make right purchase first time. I really appreciate everybody's help on this forum.

My buddy just bought the Bowtech Destroyer 350 with a ripcord code red drop away arrow rest, stabilizer, and a scott release for under 1k. The bow itself was only $750. For a bow with such high performance and visually appealing, that is a great deal. It has a 6 inch brace height and I can shoot better groups with it than I can with my Hoyt that has a 7 inch brace height. You can get a lot of great bows for under 1k.

That would be great. I will also try to go to Farm & Fleet to see what they have. I know I'm not going to be shooting anything there. LOL

I like what Bowtech does for active service members and veterans, That is one of the reasons I switched from Mathews.

I did stop by T.A.Z today. Great shop with a fantastic indoor and outdoor range. They also have a 3d but with the bad weather I wasn't able to see it. The owner did say that he should have all the new Elite's any day now so I would definetely check them out!

Let me know if you want to hook up to go to Bass Pro and Gander. We can also it a Hoyt dealer just up the road from Gander too!

Buy it from a bow shop, not a chain store, they won't be there when you have a question or need help, In the long run it will cost you more.

That is not always true. I purchased my daughters and girlfriends bow from BPS and they have been awesome. I have taken both bows in a few times for several different reasons and they have been wonderful everytime. They just worked for over an hour on my daughters bow which I purchased from them 4 years ago and they didn't charge me a dime. I would have no problem buying from one of them if it is the right bow which is the most important thing.

I have and ****s sporting goods and Gander mt. near me. The people in these stores are clueless, When you ask them a question they will read the tag to you. I'm lucky, there are 3 bow shops within 10 miles of me.

Ya see your talking about people not stores. I know which staff at each store has a brain in his head and which doesn't. With that said i have several bow shops in muy area and I know of a few that I would never take my bow or any business to. They are rude, unprofessional a-holes so you can't say it is a big chain issue it is a people issue. All you can do is find the stores and people you are comfortable with and stick with them!
