Looking for input on really good and trustworthy bow tuners. I have ordered a new set of strings for my Obsession Lethal Force and am looking to get it properly tuned and to be honest, there are just none in my area that "go the extra mile". Have looked at Red Neck Booda Outdoors and they offer, what appears to be, a real good service. All suggestions will be appreciated.

Call the bow shops. Find one that services your make. You really need to do face time with your tech. It locks your bow to you and holds the tech accountable for shoty work.

I'm sure there are a few guys on here that could do it. I just haven't been here long enough to know. There are several over on archerytalk. Ray Knight and Tony219er are two good ones. You ship them your bow and they get it set up and tuned. You may have to fine tune it after you receive to adjust for your shooting style

I'd never work through bow tuning via mail....maybe that's just me. There is surely a local shop that can handle it. SPOTnSTALK said it as well as can be said.

I agree that a local shop would be better. But if there are none that are capable in his area then he doesn't have much choice unless he learns to do it himself. I'm not being rude, but I can believe that some folks don't have quality shops in their area.

Give it a try to learn setting it up yourself.. I recently learned how, and once you do it you feel better knowing the bow performs to your standards.
There are many tutorials available online, as well.

I agree totally. Download and read everything you can. Lots of good information out there. I tune my own and help friends and family with theirs. It's not that difficult once you get started. It just takes a little more time when you're learning. The time is a worthwhile investment tho :)

The nuts&bolts of archery over on AT has about 175 pages of great info in it. It's a sticky on the top of the general archery section. And its free

Thanks guys. I have done work on my own bows but it has always been minor stuff. Adjusting A to A probably being the most detailed. I found a shop that is close to the lease I hunt in Miss. that a few people I know from that area have a lot of confidence in so if it doesn't work out with me doing the work I have a fall back plan. I have watched a ton of Youtube videos in the last few days and it seems that everyone pretty much follows the same guidelines. Thanks for the input.

Good Luck...thats why I started doing all my own stuff and bought a press. The Bow shops around here can't even install a string correctly. Which is very sad IMO!!! One shop has a bow tech that I swear don't know anything about Archery....lol.

    Hey Biz,
Try it yourself. If you can do minor stuff, you can tune. Don't over complicate it.
There is a easton archery tuning guide that is a ton of help. Also, you can ask people on here.

You won't get too much reply asking about shops in a very specific area of the country. I live in east central Indiana, which is a big area and I've never seen anyone else post on here from this part of the state.

Downloaded it. Been to AT a million times and never even noticed it as a sticky. Thanks for the heads up.

Just jump in with both feet! I live near the "bush" and I am forced to do new things. YouTube is great for this kind of stuff. Good luck...
