Got my Tribute out and put some arrows through her. Been on the shelf for about two years. Surprisingly enough my shooting was still good. My bow seems to be much slower than I remember. I think I most likely need new string an cable but don't really want to break it in mid season. Would adding a few twist in the string restore performance or will I have to re-string?

I`m not familiar with that particular bow, but if it is shooting well, I wouldn`t mess with it until the season was over. JMHO.

With a good quality custom string there should not be a break in period. 5 or 6 shots and you should be all set. How old is the set that is on there now? They do have a certain amount of life to them even if they haven't been shot. You say its slower than you remember and that is why you want a new one? Is it just out of time? Your cables may have stretched some but even if they had you would have only lost a couple pounds (1-3) and that would not have made a large enough difference for you to notice two years later.

The strings are well past there prime... Bout 3 years old... It's binary cams so I wouldn't think timing would be the issue I'm guessing cables would need changing as well.? Bout $80? Strapped for cash right now... Hit a buck on the way home from work=$500 deductible. Two days later compressor went out in my refrigerator= $1200 to replace. And of course Christmas...
