Loaded question I know. But how long to you expect a bow string to last and how do you tell when they need changing. I wax my strings on a weekly bases and I shoot about 40 to 70 arrows a week out of my bow. Thanks Dogfox
My last 2 bows I changed every 2 years, and I shoot quite a bit. I keep them waxed regularly. You'll be able to tell when they need changed if they start to fuzz up on you a lot.
Well with "normal" use around 2-3 years. Not taking into consideration wear n tear, and abrasions and what not. Just keep an eye on the fuzzing up of the string even after waxing good, and keep a record of, or in my forgetful case, a picture of the timing marks where the string crosses the cam. That way you'll have a reference mark if you start to get stretch. Just keep them clean and waxed and they will give you plenty of shots.
THIS. just keep an eye on your strings and wax them regularly and they will last 2 years or more with your amount of shooting
Rule of thumb is target shooters 1 to 2 years or less depending on wear and amount of shooting. Hunters 3 to 4 years depending on the amount of shooting. Some bows are tough on strings some are not. Take care of them and keep an eye on them they should last awhile.
Hutch makes a great string if you need one. I shoot almost everyday if all possible. I will more than likely replace mine every year or two just cause I like his strings...lol. That is unless I cut another one with a Broadhead OR let some idiot install them....lol
