Keep it waxed. That will help the string not fray as bad.

Wax it up and take a piece of paper fold it up and wrap it around the string. Move it up and down fast. This will make it melt into the string

How often do you guys wax the string. After every time shooting or just whenever you think the string needs it?

And i use the leather tag off of my Timberland boots to wax the string because it heats up good and gets the wax deep into the strings

I have a PSE DNA with the same cable slide. Look into the roller cable slide on Ebay or Archerytalk. Its $35 if you buy through the guy who makes them on AT for PSE.

My string, it's waxed so it doesn't show the fraying as much but I can see where it is getting cut. Im going to upgrade to the roller cable slide here in a month.

Wait, youre supposed to wax your string more than once? I just had it waxed the first time, didnt know I was supposed to repeat.

What do you do if dirt/dust gets onto it? Melt it off and rewax?

If you do it correctly the wax you rub on the string will melt into the cracks and creases keeping dirt and moisture out. Chunk the wax on kinda thick and then rub it fast with between two fingers until it gets really hot. It's like fapping your bow string, so make sure you do this in private with the door locked.

Brian im telling you, its more your cable slide, you need a roller. Mine is doing the same thing, provided that I haven't waxed in the past few months (shot about 13 times). But it's not fraying as the wax is still there, but I can see where the strings are being cut into. Im buying a roller cable slide.

I was thinking that too. Yesterday was the first time I've shot my bow in a whole and I only shot it a few times. I waxed it before I stopped shooting and I don't think it should be doing it that bad. I could see if I haven't waxed it in years. But i think I'm going to be ordering a new cable slide

Not a new cable slide, the roller cable one, it is $35 through the manufacturer on AT or $40 on Ebay.

Im not trying to be pushy on his product since I dont even own one. But from what I read (I was really skeptical at first) everyone who has bought it does not regret it. Im going to be replacing my cable slide with that cable slide roller.

Yes, the problem may be deeper than lack of wax. Hard to tell in a 2D pic, but the cable slide may be allowing cable to cable contact. A roller slide will def do the trick, but so will replacement with a Teflon slide. If it ain't white, it ain't Teflon.
