Whats a new top of the line good bow string and cable. My cable just snapped on me yesterday and blew up in my face. I guess when I was out looking for the coyotes in their bedding sites going through heavy thorns and brush I caught the cable on something that made a small tear, well and the rest is history. It sucked cause I was taking some practice shots before going out that evening, and Kablooie, she just snapped and was gone I checked the string and serving just never noticed the cable.

Winner's Choice is an excellent 'top of the line' product. I replaced my old string/cables with them after having them recommended to me by my local archery shop owner. I recommend them as often as possible.

Vapor Trail strings are nice and not as expensive as Winner's Choice. Think of them as a mid to upper-middle range set. Got mine for a decent price and haven't had any issues with creep or anything. Definitely would buy them again.

    When you posted this:

I was wondering if you would be posting about a string issue soon.

Lesson... if something suddenly changes... suspect the string/cables. I am going through this myself... and get your bow checked... my cam bearing and bushings were damaged when mine blew up and I have missed the first three weeks and counting. Stinks but it is my own fault.

There are a ton of makers out there and many of them make quality strings at a MUCH less expensive cost than winner choice.

Hey guys just a quick update. I got a great string and cable by BCY with a year guarantee that they will not stretch. If there are any problems they will put a new set on.

I just got my new string and cables from InnerX - awesome to deal with...bent over backwards to help make sure I got what I needed(hoyt protec with xt 3000 limbs and not a common bow) and gauranteed against creep and stretch. I highly recommend them and prob'ly won't shop for strings anywhere else again.

Thats a great point about checking the Cam and Bushings. Luckily even after my bow exploded there was no cam or limb damage so I was able to get a string put on it. When I was through the heavy brush somehow my cable got rubbed and caught on a thorn bush or little saplings. A few days later she popped, in hind sight 20/20 I should of inspected the bow from the top axle to the bottom after coming out of the heavy stuff. :D

Hey Muzzy - Yup - exact same year and model...go figure. They did shorten the sting for mine to get it a touch under the 31 inch draw. Man it's shooting like a dream again cept the archery shop put the peep on to high - just changed my hold/kisser point for the rest of this year and I'm grouping inside 2 inches with 2nd pin(35 yds).
