I was wondering if I should have my bow sling tight around my wrist or pretty loose? Does it really affect the way you shoot?

    I have mine pretty loose.

If you don't have your bow in your hand and a deer is coming in, trying to slip your hand under a tight sling will be difficult.

I don't use one so pretty loose would be my answer :) .

Really loose would be my answer. Especially when it gets a bit colder and you have gloves on. You don't want to be fumbling around getting your hand through the sling at the critical moment. My sling touchs my cable when I don't have my hand in it.

if its tight it could hold ur bow off from how it would naturally rest in ur hand

Loose. If you have it tight then it will induce torque which is very bad. It will also be hard to slip your hand in there quickly as others have mentioned.

Have not used one in years and really see no need for it. I think there are several things that archery companies have convinced hunters over the years that we need which we really don't. Have you ever had an occasion where the sling was necessary to keep the bow from jumping out of your hand and hitting the ground?

Loose. And like you've said I've never shot my bow then dropped it. They're not really needed but I use one just in case I do something dumb.

Mine is loose as stated above, BUT, when I come to full draw, it puts pressure on the top of my wrist just enough to stabilize the bow.. Actually helps when at full draw.. But loose enough to slip in and out when bow is not drawn..
